Chapter 14 Cordelia Felt Disappointed
Elijah looked down at Cordelia and wanted to say something, but he didn’t say anything in the end..
Cordelia came back to her room. After taking the stomach medicine, she lay on the bed with her eyes NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
tightly closed.
Lamia’s voice came from outside the door. “Elijah, how is
Cordelia?”
“She’s fine,” Elijah said calmly.
Lamia wanted to get into the room to see Cordelia, but Elijah told her that Cordelia was asleep,
stopping her from getting into the room.
“Alas… you should have married Dasiy back then. Dasiy is now flying all over the world and in very
good health, unlike Cordelia…”
Cordelia frowned and turned over, feeling a little irritable.
“Can I conceive by myself? Elijah doesn’t go home every night. How can I be pregnant?
Perhaps giving up is the wisest decision!” She thought.
Suddenly, Elijah’s voice came from outside the door. “It would have been the same no matter who I
married.”
“Anyway, the person can’t be Eva who he loves,” she thought.
Later, Lamia kept nagging. Elijah probably got annoyed and drove her away.
When he returned to the room, he saw Cordelia’s eyes open, and his footsteps paused.
But soon, he looked away and sat on the couch by the bay
window.
“What about the car?” Elijah said, lighting up a cigarette.
Cordelia frowned.
“Therefore, I am the one who has been actively preparing for pregnancy. However, Elijah keeps
drinking and smoking.
How naive I am,” she thought.
“The car you gave me is too high-profile. It’s not my style. I’ve been taking a taxi lately,” Cordelia said
calmly.
“Which man gave you a low-profile car, the one who ate with you or the one who gave you flowers?”
Elijah looked at Cordelia sharply.
From his eyes, Cordelia actually saw sternness and questioning.
“The one who ate with me was a client, and the one who gave me flowers was the head of the dance
troupe. Originally, I was acting as a substitute for free. Was it too much to express his gratitude by
doing so?”
Elijah raised his eyebrows. “Then explain to me who your
brother is.”
Cordelia was taken aback.
“My brother? Does Elijah mean Adam who is far away in Grant City? Is Adam discovered because of
helping me investigate Eva?” She thought.
Seeing her silent for a long while, Elijah immediately became impatient.
“Cordelia, you’d better give up on your idea of getting divorced. Or, are you willing to get divorced
without getting any property?”
Cordelia’s eyes widened immediately.
“Well, very well. Isn’t he ashamed of saying these words? What a shameless scumbag!
I am not the guilty party, so why should I get divorced without getting any property?” Cordelia thought.
“Since you are unwilling, just obediently be Mrs. Hansen. No one will take your position. Don’t take
every bush for a bugbear.”
Elijah snorted coldly. Then he turned his face away, looked out the window, and stopped looking at her.
Looking at his cold side face, Cordelia was stunned for a while.
“Is this the man I have loved for five years?
I must have been out of my mind back then. Was I wrong to insist on marrying into the Hansen family?”
She thought.
At this moment, Lamia’s voice came from outside the door again. “Cordelia, Grandpa wants to see
you.”
Lamia said it in a happy tone, which sounded a little gloating. So Cordelia guessed that Gideon must
find her for something bad.
When she opened the door, Lamia looked Cordelia up and down and asked, “Cordelia, are you okay?”
“I am fine.” Cordelia’s face was expressionless, and her tone. seemed a little alienated.
“Grandpa talked to me in an angry tone just now, so be careful.”
Cordelia glanced at Lamia, who was carefree, and finally said to her, “Thank you.”
When she pushed open the door of the study and walked in, she was greeted with pictures scattered
on the ground. In these pictures, she was dancing with her male partner on stage.
Gideon shouted at her angrily, “Cordelia, you let me down!”
