Chapter 8
The next day.
According to the address given by James Anderson, Emma Johnson came to the designated place, ordered a cup of coffee, and then began to wait for someone.
James' studio abroad was quite influential, and many domestic companies wanted to work
with him. He signed a contract with a domestic company a year ago, and originally planned to send a designer to work in the other company for a year, but the designer chose to jump ship temporarily, so he had to ask Emma to fill the vacancy. James had helped Emma a lot in France, and even though Emma didn't want to go. back to the US, she decided to help him, even though it was only for a year.
Just then, her view was blocked by a figure, and Emma looked up, her face frozen.
Ethan Carter?
Ethan froze for a moment, then realized that she was the designer from the studio. A smile of relief crossed his face, and he sat down opposite her, taking out the contract from his bag and placing it in front of her, "I didn't think that a studio could afford to hire such a famous His tone was sarcastic, Emma could hear that he was obviously not satisfied with her refusal of his offer last night.
Thinking about last night's situation, Emma looked at the contract in front of her and hesitated to take it. Signing the contract would mean she'd be working for Carter Corporation for a year, and she wanted nothing to do with Ethan.
The man was like a poisonous poppy to her.
She didn't want to have anything to do with him now, and even if she didn't want to, she wanted to sever those ties!Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Ethan watched her torn look, his brows frowning slightly. "Don't you want to see the contract?" He asked lightly. Three Years to Love
Emma hesitantly took the contract, scanned it briefly, and realized, unmistakably, that Ethan had made a very generous offer, and more importantly, that she couldn't let James down.
"Ethan!" came a surprised call, followed by a surprised "Ms. Emma" as the figure slowly approached.
"Olivia."
Emma looked up, saw the person, and greeted them politely. She had a pretty good idea who it was, but she didn't expect to see them here.
"When did you get back?" Olivia looked a little wary.
Emma said lightly, "Yesterday."
Olivia's eyes darted between the two of them, finally landing on the contract in Emma's hand, "Ethan, what have you and Ms. Emma been up to?"
"Negotiating a partnership." Ethan responded briefly, without much explanation, his eyes fell back to Emma, "If you're not satisfied with the terms, you can raise it."
Olivia knew that Ethan had always been serious about his work, but this time the person he was taking seriously was Emma, which made her feel a sense of crisis that she had never felt before. She sat down next to Ethan, took his arm, and looked directly at Emma as if to assert her sovereignty.
Emma tries to block out the scene, and after much deliberation, takes out a pen and solemnly signs her name to the contract. If she didn't, James's studio could face a considerable amount of money for breach of contract.
Seeing this, Ethan lightly hooked his lips in satisfaction. "The contract has been signed, I will report to the company on time tomorrow, if there is nothing else, I won't bother you anymore."
Emma stood up and was ready to leave, but was stopped by Ethan: "Let's have dinner together, if my grandpa knows that I even forgot to invite you to dinner, he will definitely teach me a lesson."
