CHAPTER 25
Traizle
“I see. Thank you for calling me, Zac.” I answered.
Zac called me. He fetched Layzen from his school and he was with Layzen already.
“Is it okay if we go out for a while?” Zac asked on the other line.
“Yes, of course. If you are not busy, you guys can.” I answered.
Layzen must be happy if they are going out even for a while. Staying alone in our house would be a boring day for him.
“I am not. We will play for an hour before going home,” Zac added. “Also, I don’t have to rush the comics since I sent one already.” he continued.
He was a reliable babysitter.
“Just be careful on your way, thank you.” I replied.
“No worries, it’s my job to do this too,” Laughing, Zac responded. “Sorry for disturbing you, we will go now. Layzen, do you have any things to say to your sister?” I heard Zac asked Layzen.
“Tell her I will be a good boy and I love her!” I heard Layzen shouting from the other line.
“You heard him, right?” Zac asked me, laughing at what Layzen had said.
Layzen must be excited to play even for an hour, causing him to shout in excitement.
We should do that often next time.
“Yes, I do too, Layzen. Go and play now.” I answered, before ending the call.
I am happy that we got a kind babysitter. Layzen never complained to us about how Zac was taking care of him. Sometimes, Zac teaches Layzen how to draw, and our baby finds it cool and happy.
“And what is my wife doing during business hours? Why answer someone’s call when it is not important?” Zarsuelo said, coming from behind.
“Stop calling me your wife, oddball!” I growled in silence, trying not to make a loud noises to the other employees.
It’s been days since he started surprising me behind my back, hugging me whenever he has the chance, and he never stops calling me his wife.
We are in our OFFICE ROOM for pete sake!
What should I do with this oddball idiot?
“No, I must call you my wife,” he answered, much louder than he had been a while ago. “I am drawing a line with everybody who is trying to claim you from me-”
“Do you want me to claim your life, if you won’t stop saying that annoying word?” I interrupted him.
I did not let him finish his sentence anymore. The more he speaks, the more nonsense words will come out of his mouth.
“Zarsuelo, quit playing with me. It is annoying me in every way.” I told Zarsuelo, trying to explain my side and how serious I was about it.
“But you are mine,” he answered, looking directly at me. “You are all mine, even if you don’t want to.” he added, showing his smug face.
“I told you to quit playing-”
“It is hard to quit when you are already obsessed with it.” Zarsuelo said, interrupting me as well.
He is now speaking seriously. I can’t see any hint of him being joking or not serious.
I don’t understand what’s happening.
“What are you implying?” I asked him because I couldn’t understand anything he was saying.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“You are talking to someone with that sweet smile of yours, which is unfair,” he answered, shaking his head while holding his chin. “All you did in front of me was stare at me, not smile, and not even say my first name. While you’ve only known him for a week, you’re calling him by his first name. I am mad at you, Wife.” he added, now pouting. Complaining about everything.
I don’t know how the other employees will react to what he is saying in front of me. I don’t know what situation I’m in. I don’t know what expression I should use.
A while ago, he was a ‘mad man being angry at me look’. But now he is a ‘mad man who is angry at me while pouting look’.
Changing his expressions in a few seconds is too odd.
“I am not your wife, Zarsuelo.” I explained, attempting to distinguish my position, that I am not his wife, but rather his secretary.
Zarsuelo answered, now smiling widely. “If you do not want to be my wife, then I will be your husband.”
I think he really meant that he would squeeze himself into me.
“Are you playing with me?” I asked.
I don’t want to be somebody’s toy. Even if it is him or whoever the rich ass it is. No way.
“I told you already that I am not toying with you. You are one of my candidates.” he answered.
Candidates to be his wife? Did I apply for it? Hell no.
“Who are the other candidates you are talking to?” I asked again.
“The celebrities I like and some of the ones I dated, Nana set for me.” he answered.
“I object.” I replied.
Why would he add me to his list of candidates when I am already unfavorable?
He is a crazy oddball indeed.
“Unacceptable,” he quickly answered. “Wait for me to stop liking you first, okay?” He added explaining.
What?
Wait for him?
Why do I have to suffer from this hell?
“And when is that?” I asked again, as if I was a reporter waiting for the person to answer my questions.
“When I get tired of it.” he answered before leaving our office room.
When he get tired of it?
And when is that?
Leaving me behind by that oddball Zarsuelo, Claire and the others bombarded me with questions that I don’t even know how to answer. It’s because of that oddball billionaire’s fault.
Where is my freedom of choice there?
I suddenly regretted working here.
Is it too early to resign?
I think Zarsuelo isn’t really sane. He’s a crazy, oddball, and I’m afraid I’ll die angry with him in a few weeks, months, or years.
I need to avoid him, as for now.
