9:
“TOO much stare. Euna might melt,” Reyna said to Red’s silent stare at Euna.
Red was at the table quietly sipping coffee.
Euna was there in the small living room, busy with her granddaughter. He looked at them from where he was sitting.
Nica and Aneecka were there today.
It’s so happy to have a baby at home. Baby removes worries and fatigue. He didn’t think that even he would feel those feelings upon the arrival of the little angel in their lives.
Yeah, their lives. He belongs. He really felt that to his core.
“Nothing. It’s just fun to watch Euna holding a baby.” He smiled in return as he joked with Reyna.
“Oh, I think you are thinking about your baby,” the woman yelled at him in a playful tone.
He just gently laughed at that. “A little, maybe? But seriously, it’s also funny that Euna raised her nieces and nephews, even now that she has a child, she still hasn’t given up being a good aunt to them. You know, there are only a few like that.”
“Hmm, I know.” Reyna sat across from where Red was sitting. “Euna gave a lot of dedication and appreciation to her nieces and nephews because they were the only ones left to her when the land owner of the railroad burned the railroad when we were little. Imagine, the kids were left to her in her age when she doesn’t know how to take care of a child yet. In Euna’s case, with children.”
“I did hear about that fire.”
“Yes, it’s terrible. Really, when that happened, it seems that it was planned that no family would be left behind on the railroad. It’s just because of that incident that they were robbed of their own land because a lot of people died. They said there was an investigation, we don’t know what happened there. Because those people are rich, no matter how long they will be absolved of their arrears even if they kill too many people. That fire is a nightmare for most people here.. It’s a nightmare that even if we don’t want to go back, it won’t happen and this land is still not ours, even though many lives have been taxed for it,” Reyna seriously said to him.
He swallowed violently at what he heard. He felt the burning anger in Reyna’s heart even though the tone she used towards him was neutral. “I-Is there no news on the case? I mean, on the progress or anything? At least I hope they pay damages.”
She stared at her intently before speaking again, “At that time the son of the owner of the land where the houses are standing here in the squatter came here, everyone kicked them out. There were families who did not receive a single from the donation that was given. There were a few who accepted because it was money, apart from the fact that there was nothing to do and the houses were finished, money was needed. That was the time when this place looked like a funeraria because of the dead families. ”
“That was… too much…”
Reyna nodded. “Everyone was sleeping when the burning was done and then they blamed the people here for the incident, which they said was because of the electrical jumpers that caused the fire.”
That story is a typical case of rich people who want to get their land back to them.
Even though it’s typical and he’s heard that, he still can’t quite figure out why some people just kill like that…
“I… I don’t know what to say…”
“You don’t need to comment on the events that have already happened. Red, I want to tell you that I am very grateful that you are there for Euna. That I have a lot of trust in you, so no matter what things that you know can cause trouble for the both of you, I hope you will take care of it. Being busy is normal. The only thing that is not normal is our guts that push us to make us more confused.”
Reyna suddenly burst into tears as their conversation went on. So he didn’t know what to say next.
“Hey, let’s not talk about that and it’s over. I’m okay now, you, how are you?”
“Me? It’s okay. I’m good. Yeah,” he answered, shrugging his shoulders.
“Because you’re too busy. It’s good that you’ve been here lately, your girlfriend’s sanity is diminishing.”
He froze. Is he right to think that what Reyna was telling him earlier seemed to have substance?
“Red, if you have something you can’t mention to Euna, why don’t you try to mention it now to reassure her.”
“Isn’t Euna telling you something that we have a problem with? I mean, lately I’ve been busy with the new area assigned to me. If only I could be here on the railway to deliver, there would be no problem.”
“That’s why, why did your area change?”
“Why? Ah, I’d better talk to Euna later.”
“That idea is better. Caress her and maybe she just lacks that tenderness,” she joked to him.
To be honest, in the long time since he and Euna knew each other, Red has only talked to Reyna for that long. They only shared regular greetings and a few jokes, so he was surprised by her behavior.
Or, maybe he’s just thinking about something?
“Ah, Reyna?”
“Or?”
“I just have one question…”
“What’s that?”
“Do you know the name of the owner of this land?”
“Huh? Why did you ask?”
“Ah…” Why? Think, Red!
“But as far as I know H Builders? I’m not sure. But H Builders seem to be lacking…”
“H&D Builders?”
“Yes, that’s right! They are. They really have firms. They are really rich. After that, they planned to take this land for the expansion of the railroad. In your case, the people here are not theirs to be given a good place to move.”
“Why not? I mean, it’s a new project-” Red couldn’t finish what he had to say because his phone rang on the table.
He stood up and apologized and excuse to Reyna, who just nodded.
If Red would have turned around, he would have seen Reyna following him until he left the house to talk to the caller on his phone.
She followed him with her eyes because she caught the name of the person registered on his phone…

“NO, H, don’t me. Yeah, yeah, I’m going home. Yes, you heard me right, I’m going home because I have something to discuss with Grandpops. Yes, bye.”
That’s what Reyna heard from Red before he hung up the phone.
Going home…
Have something to discuss with Grandpops…
He couldn’t be wrong about what he heard from the rider.
Is that what Euna says that is not normal here?
Because if she asks about the sudden pounding of her chest now, she knows that there is something different from what she heard and saw just now from Red… Henson!Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
“Reyna, I’ve been looking for you inside for a while now, you’re just there,” said Euna, who had just arrived.
“E-Euna…”
“What happened to you? It’s like you saw a ghost, I just touched you…”
She shook her head. “A-Ahm, nothing. Nothing. U-I was just surprised by the black cat suddenly jump here earlier,” she simply reasoned.
She pulled her best friend away from there before she could see her boyfriend talking to someone there.
“Come on, I’ve cooked dinner. Have you eaten yet?”
“That’s why I’m looking for you, so I can invite you to eat. You and Red. Have you seen him?” Euna asked her.
“R-Red said goodbye to buy something outside.”
