The CCEO’s Hidden Identity

16:

EUNA slowly removed that umbrella from Arabella’s embrace. Her niece’s breathing is normal. It’s a sign of sleeping well. She kissed the top of her nephew’s head before she left her alone in her room.

“Alrightsue!” When Reyna met Euna in the living room of the house, she raised two cans of beer in the air. “I’m really waiting for you, I bought it to make us sleepy,” Reyna said to her.

Reyna already arranged the beer and chips on the small table in the middle of their living room. It’s ready.

“That umbrella is really funny. How old are you then when you got it?” Reyna asked when she noticed she’s holding the little umbrella.

She looked at the small umbrella first before she answered Reyna, “Ten.” then she immediately gulped down the beer. “Drowsy,” she said to Reyna after swallowing.

Reyna laughed softly. “You’re funny, you know.”

“Why?” She snorted at her friend.

“Funny and a little bit crazy. Why? Because you’re the only one who makes yourself suffer.”

“Did you take a look at the spot I’m telling you about earlier?” Euna just diverted the conversation.

She’s referring to the place where they are about to open a flower shop near Dangwa. They both knew how to arrange flowers. So, that’s the business that suits them.

“Of course, I also fixed the flowers that were delivered earlier-which I remember, the customer is really annoying!”

“Why?”

“He’s annoying and he’s a naughty man.”

Euna laughed. “Sorry, it’s your last delivery, promise. But what does your customer look like?”

“Oh, handsome! But the case is antipathetic!”

“I’m asking what he looks like, not if he’s handsome.”

“You see, you’re really allergic to the rich, but yes, he looks rich. It looks like he and his girlfriend got into a fight.”

“Oh…”

“The handsome man even has bodyguards!”

“Hmn…”

“Anyway, I also remember Red by him. Red isn’t that arrogant even if he’s rich.”

“Why is his name included in this?” Euna rolled her eyeballs in an instant.

Reyna seems to be hoping that she won’t notice.

Reyna giggled.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Euna turned her gaze to their door and shook her head after. Disappointed is an understatement. They left the railroad where Red could come home anytime he wanted…

“So, are we going to talk about Red?” Reyna teased her.

Euna scoffed. “No. Never! Hey, I remember, maybe you are the one answering his call! Reynalyn, admit it!!” Euna pointed her beer in the can at her friend.

“He hasn’t called me yet-” as if on cue, he and Euna caught a glimpse of her phone ringing on the table…

Red Calling…

RED dialed Euna’s number several times but she never answered.

Well, at least her number is still active. But, he can’t do anything about himself that he should be satisfied knowing that. He feels like tomorrow that he won’t be able to contact her…

“Damn!” thinking that, he threw his phone.

Given that it rattled on the floor. But he didn’t know why he laughed as if he was losing his mind at the raucousness of it.

“You threw it and then you laugh as if that phone can be fixed by it? Tsk, hijo…”

“‘Ma…”

“Oh, c’mon.”

When his mother got close, Red clung to her waist like a child. It only took a few minutes for his tears to betray him. Yup, he was crying like a child while his mother hugged him so tight.

“Oh, son…” Zen caressed his son’s back. “I’m sorry.”

“No, ‘Ma, you don’t have to…”

“I am, son.” Zen caressed the cheek of his only son and wiped away his tears herself.

It wasn’t the first time she’d seen Red cry over. It was only then that she saw Red cry because he loved that girl.

She didn’t expect that his son would turn out like this. Because he is so loving but he is always the one that gets hurt in the end.

“She loves me, Mom.”

“Of course, son, who wouldn’t love you?”

“But I’m not sure now.”

“Now that she knows Henson set the railroad on fire and you’re her enemy?”

Red was stunned.

“Yes, hijo, I know. Before you started investigating I already preceded you.”

When they didn’t catch Euna at his friend Jax’s house, he immediately called a private investigator. He didn’t listen to Jaz that Euna was just there somewhere and maybe just chilling. He doesn’t like the feeling that he doesn’t know where she is. He felt like he was going to kill himself with worry especially since their last meeting was not good.

Euna is angry with him. To his family. So, no one could blame him if he thinks that her love for her might be overshadowed by her anger.

“I know everything, son. And I hated myself for choosing your father. For loving him. Everything shouldn’t have been this complicated for you. It was with Aira, now it’s… I’m so sorry.”

It’s just awful. It was Aira who was paid by his grandfather to stay away from him, so he was hurt then. And now, Euna…

Yes, he found out all that in just one day through the private investigator. When he confronted his grandfather because they had an agreement that he would not do that again, he only answered him one thing: You don’t deserve a woman like them.

“Grandpops trick.”

“Oh, Red, if they weren’t my choice, everything wouldn’t have been so cruel to you.”

“No, ‘Ma, you know that’s not true.”

“Redd Ford, you didn’t set it on fire so she shouldn’t have hurt you!”

“I’m still Henson, ‘Ma. By blood. He considers me an enemy.”

“Then forget her. There are many other women, hijo. There’s still Venus, that socialite is a pain in the ass by her personality but I know you two would click.”

Red burst out laughing. “‘Mom, she’s not my type.’

“Hey, I don’t know about you, the girls you like are… are…”

“What?” Red was really waiting for Zen to continue what she was saying.

“Son, what I’m saying is, you know it’s hard for me every time you get hurt.”

He just smiled at his mother. “Go to sleep, Mom. I’ll forget about Euna too,” was all he said to his mother because he knew that was all she was waiting for- assurance that he would be okay.

“Good to hear, Red. Do you know the three month rule? Just let me set you up on a blind date after three months, son.”
