CHAPTER 10
Chloe’s words caused shockwaves through the guests and ministers.
“Alpha Lance, do you know about this?” the minister cried, “That Aurora used to be mated to Alpha Damien
“Enough!” Lance snapped, “That has nothing to do with you guys! Stop poking around!”
Yet his snarl didn’t quiet down the mutterings. It worsened it instead.
“Alpha Lance, this is huge! Given her history, have you considered the possibility that she might be a spy from Silver Blade Pack?” the minister cried.
“Are you certain that she is your sister?” agreed another minister. “Even if she is indeed your sister, she had been gone for 20 years. Who knows whom she is siding with right now?”
“QUIET!” Aurora hissed.
Her voice echoed across the hall.
The noisy crowd silenced immediately.
Aurora raised her head and glanced around, a haughty look on her face.
“Alpha Damien was indeed my mate. He rejected me 6 months ago. That part is true.” She said.
A round of gasps could be heard from the crowd.
“So did you cheat on Alpha Damien? Are you really an adulterer?” cried a lady.
“No.”
Aurora denied it at once.
“I was rejected by Damien because Chloe framed me for adultery! She wants to replace me as Damien’s Luna. She is the lying one, not me!”
“LIAR!!!” Chloe shrieked in Damien’s arms. “You shameless liar-”
“Can you prove your innocence?” asked the minister in a serious voice.
Aurora had a cold look on her face.
As infuriating as it might be, she couldn’t prove her innocence.
Steven was dead. Her only mald Jenny tarned her back against her. If she had any time and power to start a thorough investigation, she might find loopholes in Chloe’s lies. But she didn’t at the time. And all the remaining
evidence must be gone by now.
* couldn’t prove that i didn’t sleep with my guard Steven. But I CAN tell you this: Chloe is a filthy liart” she
exclaimed
Chloe rounded her eyes, laughing with sarcasm, “How dare you twist the facts like that-
“Are you saying that you just got a heart attack?” Aurora looked down at her.
“Yes. So what? Are you going to pay for my hospital bills?” Chloe sneered.
“You are fine, Chloe.” Aurora said icily, “Stop faking it.”
Chloe blinked. Then she covered her face with her hands, sobbing in a weak, broken voice:
“Look at you…you are attacking me. Again! You are the Alpha’s sister, and I am just a pathetic, innocent girl who can’t fight back…I can’t take it anymore…l…”
She sucked in a sharp breath. Her eyes rolled to the back.
Chloe fainted.
Right into Damien’s arms.
People around them gasped together. Somebody cried, “Oh my **d! Is she alright?”
Damien held Chloe and cried urgently, “She has asthma! Somebody gets me a doctor!”
“Good!” Aurora said loudly, “Bring a doctor here right now!”
Chloe snapped her eyes open abruptly.
“No no…that is not necessary…” she waved her hand hastily in panic, “I am getting better now…”
“The doctor is on his way. Let him take a look at you. We wouldn’t want anything happened to you in Ever Moon Pack. What if you hold us responsible later?” Aurora said with a half-smile.
Even Damien agreed with Aurora this time, “We all saw you faint earlier. You should be examined by a doctor just to be safe.”
A cold sweat broke out on Chloe’s forehead.
If they were in Silver Blade Pack, she could simply yell at the doctor asking him to f**k off and tell everyone that
U nrested a moment alone.
But this wax Ever Moon Pack
Aurora made the rules here
Moments later, a doctor arrived at the scene. He opened his medical kit and pulled out a stethophone.
Chloe bit her lips, looking rather nervous, “Actually, you are too late, doctor. Those symptoms have passed. I don’t think you will be able to diagnose any problem right now-
“Oh don’t worry Miss.” The doctor smiled politely. “With or without those symptoms, if there is really something wrong with you, I can certainly find it.”
He tested her heartrate, got her blood pressure and then checked her pupil.
After a series of thorough examinations, the doctor restored his equipment and rubbed his chin, contemplating.
“Anything? Doctor?” one of the ministers pursued eagerly.
In fact, all guests had gathered up around them.
Nobody was dancing anymore.
People were standing on tiptoes to hear the doctor’s final diagnose.
“So this lady just fainted?” the doctor asked suspiciously.
“That is right.”
“But that’s highly unlikely!”
The doctor glanced at Chloe before saying firmly:
There’s nothing wrong with her. She is very healthy at the moment. If anything, she has a tendency of getting hyperthyroidism. That’s a disease caused by bad temper and constant raise of blood pressure. People around you might say that you get mad very easily…”
Chloe’s face became tomato red.
“Y-You idiot!” She shrieked. “I am lady! I have a super nice personality-”
“But you are throwing a temper right now,” the doctor pointed out.
Everyone burst out laughing, except for Damien, whose face was dark and sulky.
“So she doesn’t have a heart disease?” Aurora asked, giggling.
“No, I can tell you from my 20 years of practicing this lady’s heart is fine.”
Aurora glanced at Damien’s sulky face and announced to the crowd:
“As you can see, Chloe is a compulsive liar! She fakes her disease. She manipulates your feelings. You can’t believe
a word that she says! If she accuses me of adultery, who do you believe in? Me or her?”
The guests exchanged look with each other. And then one man said, “We trust you, Princess Aurora!”
“Yes, we believe in you!”
“Alpha Damien is making a liar as his future Luna. He is not that smart anyway. It’s a good thing that you left him, princess. There are a lot of good men out there!”
Chloe’s face turned pale seeing the change of people’s attitude.
“W-Wait a second!” she cried, “Are you going to believe her like that? She must have colluded with that doctor!! am sick! I am really sick!”
One of the ladies rolled her eyes and sneered, “She is our princess. Of course we trust her more than a commoner like you. Shut your mouth now. Or even I can kick you out of this party!”
With that said, the lady gave Chloe a shove, “Leave! We don’t want you here!”
Chloe gave a squeal of anger, “How dare you push me-”
But then, more hands reached for Chloe.
Countless people pushed her toward the door, loudly demanding her departure.
Chloe, who had always been arrogant and domineering at Silver Blade Pack, had never been treated like this before.
She screamed in fury, waving her arms wildly, even messed up her own hair, looking like a l***ic.
In the end, it was Damien who yanked her out of the crowd, striding toward the exit.
Amid the laughter of the onlookers, the entire Silver Blade Pack followed their Alpha in a hasty retreat.
“Damien Damien!!”
Chloe cried while being dragged by Damien down the long staircase outside.
“Why are we leaving? Did you see how those people shoved me and pulled my hair? We should go back there and
demand for justice! You can’t let them disrespect me like that
“SHUT UP!” Damien snapped, an angry vein popping on his forehead.
He wanted to make a good impression tonight, building a good foundation for tomorrow’s official meeting.
Yet Chloe…She messed up everything!
Now the Silver Blade Pack looked like a bunch of clowns in the public’s eyes!
The guests followed them all the way to the entrance, booing at them.
“Liar!” one of the ladies cried at Chloe’s back, “**k off! Our princess doesn’t care for your cheap gift!”
“It’s a 100 thousands brooch! It’s not cheap!” Chloe shouted back, “That **h Aurora smashed it! She owes me 100 thousands!”
The crowd jeered.
“Here!” one lady took off her diamond earrings and threw it at Chloe, “Take this 5 million earrings! Is it enough to make it up for your s**d bracelet?”Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
The others applauded, laughing. More girls started to take off their jewelries and tossed at Chloe.
“Take my 12 million dollars bracelet and f**k off!”
“But my shoes, they are adored with j**s. You like it? Liar!”
“Our princess has more jewelries than all of us combined! Only a loser like you would care so much for that s**d
brooch!”
Jewelries and shoes flew at Chloe like a rain of pebbles. She covered her head and *d back i**n panic.
“That’s enough…Stop! STOP!!” she screamed.
Yet more people joined the crowd of attacking her,
Backing down in terror, Chloe looked up and saw Aurora standing on the balcony, looking down at her with a haughty gaze.
A hint of a mocking smile played at the corners of Aurora’s mouth.
