Chapter 14 A Short Notice
Eva hesitated for a moment with her hand on the doorknob. No sooner had Caleb finished speaking than she opened the door in a panic and walked into the bedroom.
Eva knew well that, even if it was a sham marriage, Caleb could do her a great favor, but she didn’t want to rely on him. Instead, she wanted to take revenge by herself.
Early in the morning, Eva was woken up by a call from Renee.
“Is something wrong?” Eva looked at William, who turned over and went on sleeping, and asked in a low voice.
Renee shouted on the phone, “How dare you go to the audition alone! You even slipped away that night! Do you think you can get rid of me now? You don’t need to act in the teleplay I told you before. I’ve found a better actress. And you won’t get any roles from me in the future.”
Eva covered the phone’s loudspeaker to prevent William from being woken up and waited until Renee finished speaking. “No problem. I didn’t like that teleplay. I’ve signed a letter of intent with the crew of ‘Rose in the Wind’, and if you don’t sign the contract, you will have to pay me a lot.”
“You bitch! Without me, you would have been excluded from the entertainment. I’ll wait and see how you act in ‘Rose in the Wind’. If you screw it up and come back, I will show you no mercy!” Renee was so angry that she was about to abuse Eva.
Renee was angered when she saw the contract, so she called Eva to vent her fury.
Renee almost freaked out when she received the contract. Worse still, Sheila happened to be in Renee’s office and saw the contract as well. With a raged face, Sheila glared at Renee and wanted an explanation.
Renee had sworn that Eva would not be able to attend the audition, but they even received the contract and had no choice but to sign it.
Renee racked her brains to appease Sheila and came up with an idea. She decided not to notify Eva to attend the briefing until this morning. And then Eva would be late and annoy the director. Hearing this, Sheila nodded with a smile. That was why Renee called Eva early in the morning.
After Renee snapped, she cut to the point. “Don’t be late for the briefing of ‘Rose in the Wind’ at 10 o’clock. Otherwise, I will kick you out of the entertainment. ”
“Ten o’clock?” Eva got the watch on the bedside and took a look. “It’s already eight o’clock now. Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“You woke up so late. You deserve it!” Renee snorted.
“Even if I got up early, you didn’t notify me. You know I never turn off my phone,” Eva questioned.
Renee said arrogantly. “I don’t care. Don’t be late. Mel Pommer hated people being late.” After that, Renee hung up the phone.
“Damn it!” Eva wailed and hurriedly got up to wash herself up. Fortunately, she chose a dress that day. She could buy it when she was passing by the mall, and then returned it after the briefing was over. Eva had no time to get her hair down, so she could only put on some light makeup.
Caleb, who had not slept well in the living room, was woken up long ago. Seeing Eva running out of the house in a panic, he stopped her. “Where are you going?”
“Mr. Livingstone, I had a briefing at 10 o’clock and I’m about to be late. After Liam wakes up, you can take him back. I should go now, ” Eva shouted in a hurry.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
She wasn’t afraid that Caleb would steal her things. After all, his suit was probably more expensive than her apartment.
“Where is the briefing held?” Caleb stopped Eva and asked.
“Westin Hotel! Mr. Livingstone, I should go now, or I’ll be late.” Eva was a little anxious.
Hearing this, Caleb took Eva’s handbag with one hand, took out his mobile phone with the other hand, and dialed a number. “I want a dress and ask a stylist to Upper Grailim within half an hour.”
Caleb didn’t look sissy at all when he held Eva’s blue handbag. On the contrary, the blue handbag made his fingers look even slender and attractive. Caleb’s hands might well turn on the hand fetishisms.
Caleb was perfect all over. That was unfair!
“I’ll ask my people to drive you there in a while, but you must spend the breakfast time with Liam,” Caleb explained to Eva, who was in a trance.
