Chapter 12
Felicity wasn’t buying it. “Is that all? Is this how you apologize? Honestly, it’s nowhere near enough.”
Jennifer quickly asked, “Felicity, what would it take to calm you down?”
Shemaine knew she had no way out. The only option left was to apologize and hope for Felicity’s forgiveness. She humbled herself further, saying, “I’m truly sorry, Felicity 1 sincerely apologize for the trouble I’ve caused you”
“Mainey, you’re a smart woman. You know what I want,” Felicity said, casually playing with her nails.
Shelmaine instantly understood what Felicity was implying but remained silent, waiting for her to continue.
“Natasha is my cousin. We’re very close. Whether this issue is resolved or not really depends on her mood. If you’re truly sincere, you should apologize to her in person”Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Felicity paused for a moment before continuing, “I don’t want to make things hard for you. Look at you you’re young, talented, and it’s not easy to get to where you are now.
“Honestly, you could have much better options. These days, even a divorced woman can easily find a good match
“Natasha, though, is a stubborn one. She’s Exated on him. So why lighther? It’s not worth it. There are plenty of good men out there.”
Jennifer glanced at Shelmaine but didn’t say anything.
As Shelmaine had suspected, Felicity was here to get back at her on Natasha’s behalf.
She bit her lip, considering her options carefully before speaking. “So, apologize to Natasha, will this all be over?”
Felicity lit a cigarette, her silence heavy with disdain as she cast a scornful glance in Shelmaine’s direction.
Shelmaine didn’t want to apologize. She didn’t want to concede. But seeing the anxious, pleading look in Jennifer’s eyes made her feel terrible.
All this trouble was because of the grudge between her and Natasha, and at its core, because of Samuel
After a moment, Shelmaine asked Felicity for Natasha’s contact information and called her.
Natasha answered
“Ms. Green, it’s shelmaine,” she said.
Natasha responded lazily,
I know.”
“I’m sorry” Shelmaine forced out, each word feeling like she was grinding her pride into the ground.
“Alright then, I’ll be generous enough to forgive you,” Natasha said, surprisingly quick to respond. Then, she hung up.
Felicity glanced at her phone, looking at a message from Natasha, and said, “Alright, alright. Since the misunderstanding has been cleared up, there’s nothing more to discuss.” Jennifer smiled apologetically. “Thank you, Mrs. Westwood, and sorry for the trouble.”
Felicity grabbed her bag, ready to leave. Jennifer quickly moved to escort her out, leaving Shelmaine alone in the room.
At that moment, Shelmaine’s face burned ashen, and a sharp pain twisted through her lower abdomen, Instinctively, she braced herself against the wall, bending over as her entire body weakened.
A passing server noticed Shelmaine crouched on the floor in distress, and rushed over. “Are you alright?” Shelmaine struggled to speak but managed to utter, “Call an ambulance, please.” The pain was overwhelming. The server immediately called for an ambulance.
When Shelmaine regained consciousness, she was lying on a hospital bed.
The bright white surroundings took a moment to come into focus, and slowly, she recognized where she was.
Jennifer was beside her, concern evident in her eyes. “Shelmaine, how are you feeling? Is there anywhere that still hurts?”
“What happened?” Shelmaine asked.
“You scared me to death!” Jennifer said.
“Shelmaine instinctively touched her stomach, only relaxing when she confirmed that she wasn’t in any immediate pain.
“I was a close call. Fortunately, you got to the hospital in time. You also have a bit of low blood sugar and malnutrition, which was why you tambed.
“Tw already called your husband, he‘ be here soon.
Jendler still didn’t know about the divorce.
