Chapter 20
Dylan impatiently looked up at the traffic light and counted the numbers.
Today, Lyle was busy attending the fashion show, so he had to meet with Miss Lisa of the Roberts family on behalf of Lyle to negotiate the upcoming jewelry design and manufacturing order.
The Roberts family is also a major partner of the Global group, otherwise, he would have asked Paul to meet Lisa on his behalf.
By the time Dylan arrived at Nancy’s house, the clock struck eight o’clock in the evening.
Inside, she stopped waiting and limped down to the kitchen. She had just taken out a package of instant noodles and was about to cook a temporary meal when she saw him barge in.
“I’m sorry, you’re hungry, right?” Dylan asked in a gasp.
“I thought you weren’t coming.” Nancy opened her eyes wide.
“I have an urgent matter. I can’t call you.” He said as he quickly put food on the table.
“Really? Maybe my phone ran out of battery, I was so busy writing the script that I didn’t notice.”
Looking up at the man in front of her, she felt like she and he had been close since a previous life.
This afternoon, he called to tell her to wait for him to buy food, but she waited for a long time without seeing him. She thought he had forgotten.
For many Christmas seasons, she was alone, but today suddenly there was another person in the house, making her heart warm.
She missed Nathan again. Maybe she never forgot him, but at times like this, she missed him so much.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
The winter night meal passed quietly. While Dylan was washing the dishes, Nancy stood next to him, smiling slightly, but unfortunately, he turned to see her.
“What’s up? Are you laughing at me?” Dylan frowned.
“All male employees of Global Group seem to be good at doing housework.” Nancy replied calmly.
“Is there anyone besides me?” He asked slowly.
“Oh, no.” She quickly turned away and hobbled to the living room.
Dylan knew Nancy was talking about Stephen. He quickly washed the dishes, placed them on the shelf, and followed her.
On TV, the fashion show was being broadcast live, and the lens filmed close-ups of the jewelry designs.
Sometimes the screen also showed Lyle and Mina sitting in the front row, in addition to Wynn.
Nancy didn’t expect that she just randomly said an idea, but Lyle could turn it into a real product. Seeing Dylan also watching attentively, she blurted out.
“Aren’t you going out?”
“Go out?”
“Yes, going out to celebrate Christmas. Today the street is very crowded.”
“Do you want to go?”
Nancy wanted to chase him away so he could return to his mother, but she didn’t know if he accidentally or intentionally didn’t understand what she meant.
While she was bewildered, Dylan ran up to her room to get a coat, ran down and gently put it on for her, then carried her to the car.
The car drove through a few roads and stopped in front of an amusement park.
The space here is filled with the magical shimmer of thousands of sparkling stars, and the rows of dry, leafless trees are covered with poetic and romantic white snow.
Dylan carried Nancy around in front of the admiring eyes of many people. She was embarrassed and didn’t dare look at anyone and felt regretful for not refusing his offer from the beginning.
It was getting late and the crowd had thinned out. Dylan carried Nancy out of the amusement park and took her home.
When the car arrived, she quickly told him to leave because her leg was better. She had to take the opportunity to speak before he suggested staying.
Looking at her urgent look, he felt a bit funny. After carrying her into the house, he quickly went back to the car and returned a moment later, carrying an apple.
“Merry Christmas.”
Dylan took Nancy’s hand, put the apple in, and walked away very quickly. He bought that apple with twenty-four coins, believing that he would receive true love from the person he liked.
As soon as he touched the steering wheel, the light on the window went out, the clock struck midnight, and the church bell rang, signaling the transition between the old year and the new year.
This time Wynn’s MV was directed by Kent. Kent has been traveling with the film crew for a month now, so he looks a bit thinner.
Paul didn’t understand how Kent was devoted to art, but during a week of borrowing Ella’s hotel, Paul was constantly criticized by her because the film crew kept breaking glasses, tiles, tables…
When Paul was scolded, he turned to Kent and blamed himself, saying that it was because he ate at home and took care of the world that he was so miserable.
Kent heard him complain and said that this is a family matter, not a world matter because it all comes down to one thing, the Global corporation.
Paul couldn’t say as much as Kent so he had to stay silent. However, Paul liked the way Kent devoted himself to his work, taking care of every millimeter of film.
There was little snowfall in the afternoon, so Kent took the opportunity to film outdoor scenes first.
Nancy heard that Rosalind would be paired with Wynn, so she intentionally went to the filming location to find an opportunity to inquire about Nathan. Mina also came to support Wynn.
Two girls stood next to each other, chatting and smiling.
In the image of a rich boy, Wynn is much more handsome. He already looks rich, but if he refines his appearance more, he’ll become super rich.
The opening scene is a scene of two people holding hands walking on a white snowy road, an extremely romantic frame.
Wynn’s fate is miserable. If he hates something, God will immediately give it to him.
He’s not famous yet so he has no say in choosing his co-stars. He didn’t understand why his beloved brother brought his classmate to be paired with him.
