Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 750: Tina Stood Her Up Again

As Tina was pulling up Paula's number on her phone, she suddenly paused. A teahouse? Why did that sound so familiar? Suddenly, she pinched the bridge of her nose, "I can't believe I forgot about that!"

At a certain teahouse, Ella Bailey sat in the reserved private room, looking through the floor-to-ceiling windows at the bustling crowd below.

Her phoenix eyes were full of frustration. Tina! Really impressive! Twice now! That damned woman, standing her up twice! No calls answered, no messages returned, as if she had vanished from the earth. How could Logan have chosen such a granddaughter-in-law?

She's a disgrace to the Farrell family. And Jared! Truly, no two different people come from the same bed; he's cut from the same cloth as Tina! Ella Bailey angrily bit into the freshly served pastries as if she were biting into Tina and Jared, the jerks.

"Let's go, we're going to find General Praevion! Damn it, I refuse to believe I can't handle you two!"

Meanwhile, at Hartwood, in the Langdon family's castle-like estate, Grandpa Langdon sat by Carl's bed. He looked at his son, who was unconscious, and picked up a teacup from the desk only to hurl it at Colin Nash's forehead, "Useless! You can't even handle this small matter, and you've caused your young master to get hurt. What use do I have for you?!"

"Forgive me, head of the family!"

Despite being in modern times, the Langdon family still clung to old customs. Colin Nash fell to his knees with a thud, his forehead touching the ground, "This time, we indeed were careless. We didn't expect it. Just a young girl, and yet so formidable. I suspect she might also belong to a hidden family."

"Absurd!"

Grandpa Langdon threw another teacup, "Do you think I'm a fool?! How powerful can a girl in her early twenties be? Go and inquire, see if there's any family with such a genius. Wouldn't those old fools have flaunted her talents far and wide by now?!"

As the foremost among the five great families, the Langdon family had no such genius. What could those old fools have that they possess such talent?! Even if they did, he would have long since dealt with them! "Enough! All of you go and take your punishment. I'll give you one more chance, by any means necessary. That bioweapon must be retrieved!"

Grandpa Langdon banged the table hard, "Since fate has brought this information to us, that thing must belong to the Langdon family."

Back at the teahouse in Ashbury, a day later, Ella Bailey still fumed over being stood up. Even facing Ruud, her words carried resentment, "General Praevion, could you please, for the sake of my mother who once helped you, relay a message to the Farrell family? Tina and Jared have gone too far! It's clear they're just playing games with me!"

Ruud listened to the story with a stern face, tapping his fingers on the table intermittently, "You were too rash. Tina and that boy Jared, each more cunning than the other. You've had past conflicts with them, rashly approaching them, naturally, they wouldn't trust you."Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

"They could have simply refused to agree."

Ella Bailey protested, "They agreed readily enough, but in the end, they broke their promise. Clearly, they wanted to take revenge and humiliate me in the process."

Ruud remained noncommittal, based on his impression of Tina. That girl indeed seemed capable of such actions. Ella Bailey continued to rant, "Logan really is getting senile with age, I don't understand how he could favor Tina as a granddaughter-in-law!"

The man's gaze darkened slightly.

Tina, that girl, was far too self-centered.

He couldn't understand why Mr. Watson and the others had chosen her to lead the new department.

"Your mother did indeed help me once, but aiding you in secret against the Bailey family was the greatest help I could offer," he said.

Ruud glanced at his watch, "As for the rest, my position does not allow me to do much. The higher-ups have always wanted to regulate the hidden families, and until I know what the Langdon family intends to do with this item, I can't intervene on your behalf. So, if you really want to gain Tina's trust, you'll have to do it on your own."

"I will do everything I can to help you find your mother's whereabouts. We need to speed things up; you don't have much time left."

The people of the Bailey family were masters of manipulation.

Years ago, Victor had deceived Jared's aunt into his grasp, tricking her into pregnancy and subsequently rendering her comatose and hidden away.

Ella Bailey, ever since learning of her origins, had been searching for her mother.

To date, she had only uncovered mere clues.

If it weren't for saving her mother, she would never have agreed to marry Luke Gill, nor would she have disguised herself as a villain!

Reflecting on the scorn she had endured over the years and the efforts she had made.

Ella Bailey's eyes, initially scattered, slowly focused; indeed, she was running out of time.

At the same time, in the same place.

A few rooms away from Ella Bailey's booth, Tina and Jared sat closely together.

"Mr. White, do you recognize this item?"

The table, which should have held teacups, was empty except for a black box containing biochemical weapons.

Whether by design or accident, the opened box faced the booth door.

As Paula and Sean entered, the first thing they saw was the emerald-like green liquid.

Sean's initially relaxed expression stiffened.

He let go of Paula's hand and quickly moved forward.

Holding the box, he inspected it for a while before confirming, "What's going on here?"

Paula recognized it as their family's property, "Serena, how did this end up here? My father and your husband's partnership had just begun, hadn't it?"

Tina, holding a tablet, flicked her fingers a few times and pulled up a video, "Mr. White, perhaps you should watch this first."

Jared said, "To investigate the mastermind behind the Langdon family, my brother followed a Langdon family member lurking among us to find her contact, and then this happened."

Jared glanced at Sean's tense face and continued, "Tina and I are curious too. As far as we know, only the White family is researching these things in all of Sinoria, and the biochemical weapon in the bomb on my brother, if I'm not mistaken, must also be from the White family, right? Mr. White, don't you owe me an explanation?"

Jared's gaze was cold.

His tone was even, but with each word, Sean's face turned a shade paler.

By the end, the fine sweat on Sean's forehead couldn't be wiped away.

Being intimidated by someone barely older than his daughter was embarrassing for Sean.

But that was the fact.

Jared's aura had been forged in a world of blades and shadows, dangerous missions, and deceitful dealings. It wasn't just Sean who couldn't bear it; Paula felt suffocated just standing by.
