Vincent's POV

I look at the football paper on the board. I can't find my name which didn't surprise me. Other people

were looking for their names too. But not just for football but other sports and clubs, choir, swimming,

band, and etc.

"I got in!" Sammie said, shaking me.

"How did you get in?" I said with slanted eyes.

"I got in cause I'm awesome," he said.

"Ha, not cocky smart ass," I said looking down at him. "If you win a game I'll kiss you, which probably

won't happen anytime soon," I said.

His face heated up. "You don't have to be so cocky and so sure of yourself either," he mumbled. I

laughed and ruffled his hair.

"Whatever I tried. Oh well." I said with a sigh about to walk away.

"Wait, I found your name," Derrick said.

"Really?! Where?" I said pushing through people to where Derrick and Sammie were.

"Here," he said pointing at the cheerleader's list.

My eyes widen. Derrick and Sammie bite their lips to keep themselves from laughing.

"Shut up I know what you're already going to say," I said rolling my eyes.

He smirked and shook his head. "Well, what was I going to say then?" Derrick asked, looking amused.

"That I'm a wimp and that's why I'm not a football player but a cheerleader," I said pouting.

"Actually I was just gonna laugh at you but I guess both will due," he said.

I'm a fucking cheerleader!

"Hey snap out of it!" he said, hitting me on the side of my head.

"RUDE MUCH?" I said.

"You're not human," he said before I could sing the song.

"Well, you can cheer for us," Sammie said, still biting his lip to keep from laughing.

"And your man," Derrick said grinning. They looked at each other and bust out laughing.

"You both can suck it," I said.

Derrick laughed harder and Sammie started coughing. I smirked when I found Mason's name on the

football list.

"Well, I guess I can cheer for you guys," I said.

"Thanks," Derrick said after he was calmed.

"Even though that's what cheerleaders are supposed to do anyway," Sammie said rolling his eyes.

"Whatever, let's go," I said grabbing their arms and dragging them to the boys' locker room.

"Sammie we're all boys here," I said smirking as he locks the door to the stall.

"Leave him be, if he wants to be the only boy using a stall let him," Derrick said already dressed.

"What are you his mom?" I say hitting Derrick on the arm.

"Just get dressed," Derrick said rolling his eyes.

"Fine," I said while taking my shirt off.

After I was dressed we all lined up to head to the gymnasium. I noticed Sammie wasn't in line.

"Where's Sammie?" I whisper to Derrick.

"Don't know I'm not his mom," he said, smirking.

"Ass," I whispered and slipped into the boys' locker room. "Sammie?" I say checking the stalls.

"Vincent?" a voice said.

I went straight to the last stall. He unlocked it and it swung open.

"Why aren't you wearing shorts or sweats or even jogging pants?!" I yell whisper.

"Sh," he said and pulled me into the stall.

"What are you-" I started to say.

"Shut up and listen," he said, pulling his shirt down.

"I'm listening," I said after some silence.

"I don't know where they are, do you have extra?" he said looking embarrassed.

"I have jogging pants that are probably big.' I said.

"Fine! I just need pants," he said looking away.

I went to my locker and came back. "Here," I said and threw them in his face.

"Rude," he said as I rolled my eyes. "Shoo," he said.

"Huh?" I said.

"So I can change," he said.

"We're both-" I started to say but he slammed the stall door close and locked it.

"I see everyone wants to be asses today," I said, laying back against the stall door.

A while later he opened the door. I fell and got up quickly. Then I bit my lip.

"Did you really tie the pants?" I said.

"Shut up. Why are you still here?" he asked.

"I was waiting, now let's go," I said grabbing his arm.

We ran to the gym. We slipped in with only Derrick and a few people in the other gym class noticing.

We sat by Derrick quickly.

"Where have you been?" he whispered to me.

"Pants problems," I said and we both looked at Sammie.

"What?!" Sammie whispered yelled.

"Sh." Derrick and I said to him.

"Some of you guys are happy today, some of y'all are disappointed." The coach said then his eyes

landed on me, he grinned. "And one of you are hella confused," he said.

Ah, I see he put me as a cheerleader.

Ass

"And that individual will see me after class before going to lunch," he said.

"Of course." I breathed out.

"Now jog!" he yelled.

The other coach was stretching. I jogged with Derrick and Sammie. I saw Mason and he winked at me.

Ah, he wants me.

"Is something wrong with his eye?" Sammie whispered to me. Derrick almost laughed but bit his lip to

hold it in.

"It's called winking idiot," I said.

"Well, it's stupid," Sammie said. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

"It's flirting," I said.

"Well it's making me uncomfortable," he said.

"It wasn't towards you, it was for me," I said.

"Uh huh still creepy," he said and jogged ahead.

"Ass." I hissed.

"Down tiger," Derrick said laughing before he went ahead as well, leaving me.

"Ass two," I said.

"Hey." a voice said.

I looked to my left. "Mason?" I said surprised.

"You might want to jog faster before coach gets on you about it," he said as my face heated up and he

jogged past me.

"Hello again." a voice said.

I looked to my right and saw Sammie. "Hello ass,"I said glaring at him.

"Are you staring at someone's butt?" he asked with an eyebrow up.

"Why would I stare at your ass," I said.

"Never said you were staring at mine," he said, smirking. "But that just proves you were," he said, still

smirking.

"Whatever," I said rolling my eyes.

After gym

"You want us to wait?" Derrick asked.

"No, I'll meet you guys at the table," I said.

"Okay, don't be a slow ass," Derrick said and laughed. Sammie laughed as well.

I rolled my eyes and went to the coach. "You wanted to see me, sir," I said.

"Yeah about the cheerleading." the coach said.

"It was just a joke," I said smiling.

"Nope. I was going to tell you that you have practices on the same days and on the same field as the

football players. And cheerleaders start next week, the same time the football players do." he said.

"Coach do I really have to?" I asked.

"Stop you're whining and deal with it this whole year," he said.

"What?!" I said.

"Yeah instead of a semester like how football goes you do cheerleading the whole year. You don't get

to have a choice like they do," he said.

"But what if my grades drop," I say.

"For you, I'll still let you come," he said grinning.

"Sounds like you're forcing me to still come," I mumbled.

"Deal with it. And just maybe next year I'll let you be a football player." he laughs.

"This isn't fair, I'll be the only boy," I said.

"You should have thought of that before trying to-" coach started to say.

"I'm gay!" I yelled.

His eyes widened. He opened his mouth then closed it. Then he grinned which shocked me.

"Ahhh I see. So you were trying to get close to a boy," he said. My face heated up. "Well I guess my

punishment for you wasn't a waste after all," he said.

"You're cruel," I said about to leave his office.

"Hey kid," he said. I looked at him and he was pointing up to his left. I looked at where he was pointing

and saw a rainbow flag. "I don't mind," he said grinning.

I smiled and nodded then left.

"What took you so long?" Sammie asked as I sat down.

"I knew you were gonna be a slow ass," Derrick said, taking a bite from his pizza.

"Stuff," I said, taking a bite of my own pizza.

At the end of the day, I found mom at home. "It's a surprise to see you here," I said, taking off my

shoes.

"Hello Vincent, how was school?" she asked, smiling.

"Cool, how was work?" I asked.

Her smile got bigger. "I got a promotion!" she said jumping up.

"That's great, where's dad?" I asked.

"Trying to get a job again." she sighed then smirked. "It's mother and son time!" she said excitedly.

"Mom it's Thursday," I said.

"All the more reason to shop," she said.

"I hope it's not for clothes," I said joking with her.

"Ugh, I hate shopping for clothes. I'm talking about food!" she said smiling again.

"Well then let's go," I said, putting on my shoes again and throwing my backpack on the couch.

"I'll leave a note for your dad just in case he shows up at home before us," she said.

After that, we went to the store

"So what are we looking for?" I asked.

"Everything," she said and I laughed. "I'm also going to teach you how to cook so you won't be like your

father." mom said, shaking her head while smiling.

"Who taught you how to cook?" I asked.

"Myself and a teacher," she said sighing. "My mom didn't really cook," she said.

After shopping, we went home and made tacos, chocolate chip cookies, and brownies. Once dad came

he was very happy.

"A home-cooked meal means my wife is home," he said running in the kitchen giving her a big hug and

a kiss on the forehead. "Hey kiddo," he said, patting my back.

"Hey dad, did you get a job?" I asked as we sat down at the table.

"Nah I'll find one next time." he sighed. "Now let's dig in," he said and mom shook her head while

smiling.

After dinner, I took a shower then headed to my room. I fell back on my bed. I pulled the covers on top

of me.

Why did I have to be a cheerleader? I'll be surrounded by girls.
