Chapter 3
The intense wind blew Chloe’s hair, she loved how it smoothed on her skin and how the decorated flowers danced to its movement.
She has been sitting on the veranda of her room for more than five minutes now, yet didn’t feel lonely.
At this time, she had a lot of thoughts roaming in her head. It’s all about ma’am Vanessa. This lady is creating in her mind all day long.
From the first day she set her eyes on her, she loved everything about the lady. She wanted to see Vanessa again.
“Why’s my little sister sitting here all alone? She must be hungry right?” A familiar voice came from her side.
It’s her brother. It is Ben.
She adjusted by letting him get seated, “I want to go see ma’am Vanessa”, she stated.
His brows furrowed. That sounds funny though.
“And who’s that you’re talking about?” He questioned her.
She turned to face him, “A beautiful lady that owns a bakery some miles away from here. She’s gorgeous and you won’t believe it. I loved her from the first day I set foot in her bakery shop to get a cupcake. She’s so nice and cheerful and I’m already missing her”.
Chloe was filled with excitement at the moment, the smiles that surrounded her face were so pure.
“And now you want to go see her or get cupcakes again?” Ben tried to ask her.
She loved that question so much, “I want to stay with her for a while. And you know, I’ll get cupcakes too.”
He laughed out loud. That’s so gibberish. Chloe will never stop putting smiles on his face.
“You must be insane for saying that, and you think Dad will watch you leave this house to a local class lady just because of her cupcakes.” Ben spluttered.
Chloe placed her arm on his thigh, “You telling lies. Dad loves her so much, the fruit bread you ate yesterday was gotten in her bakery by dad, so don’t ever think dad will be mad at me if I go meet her.”
She got on her feet, “I’m leaving to see her, when dad comes back, tell him that I’m with ma’am Vanessa.”
Ben watched her stride out of her room, he stood and followed her immediately but couldn’t get her on the stairs either.
He wondered how fast she was that not even her shadow was seen.
“Chloe, I’m not letting you out of this house okay.” he screamed out so she could hear him from her room. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Footsteps approaching him paused the next sentence he was about to make.
“And where is she going?” Tracy got seated while waiting for his reply.
He chuckled and got seated too, “To see a beautiful lady that owns a bakery, she got a cupcake from her yesterday and had loved her. That’s so silly of her”.
“Not just silly but childish.” Tracy added and picked the television remote.
“I’ll see you two when I’m back, she’s my friend and I’m missing her dearly”, Chloe uttered from the stairs.
Tracy stood up and moved towards her, “I’ll tell her to come to visit you herself okay. You aren’t stepping out of this house.”
She shuddered, “Dad knows that I love her so much and he loves her too.”
“Shut your mouth. Dad isn’t in love with any woman, talk more of a baker like her.” Ben spluttered.
Chloe ignore them and moved towards the door, before they could get her she twitched out while screaming.
“Gosh! Dad is back already.” Tracy uttered and bit her lips.
They two watched Chloe as she ran towards their father.
“Welcome Dad.” she greeted and embraced him.
He glared at the two standing before him, very sure that something is going on between them.
“Welcome Mr and Mrs.” he greeted them out of anger.
“Welcome Dad, so sorry for that.” They both apologized.
He glanced at Chloe and shook his head, “Now what’s going on between you three? Hope I’ll get peace of mind now that I’m back from work?”
“No! I’m sorry but you won’t, only if you tell them never to stop me from visiting ma’am Vanessa. I love her cupcakes”, Chloe narrated almost about to break out in tears.
He smiled and leaned on the car, “Nessa’s bakery isn’t your home, Chloe. This is your home, let your siblings know whatever you want and they’ll get it for you.”
She shook her head, “I’ll always get it myself, and with that opportunity, I’ll stay with her for a while.”
“Dad, stop speaking like you don’t love how she treated me and approached you. You love her right?” Chloe spoke out audibly to his hearing.
Tracy twisted her face, “Miss psychologist, dad isn’t in love with the baker and won’t be. Let’s get into the house and I’ll go get you the cupcake.”
“Stop hating me. I’ll get it myself, but you can follow me.” Chloe remarked.
Mr. Xavier couldn’t say a word anymore, the fact that his daughter just mentioned that name drew him back to the past.
He wouldn’t want to have that lady in his mind, but here is Chloe getting her into his imagination again.
“Get back here, Chloe” the loud voice of Ben dawned in his ear.
He blinked several times, his eyes caught the little girl running towards the gate, and before Ben could approach her, she dashed out already.

Vanessa was so busy with the customers she was attending to, that she felt a warm touch on her arm.
She glanced aside but couldn’t get anyone standing beside her, and then she began her interaction again.
“You didn’t notice me right? I’m too small.” Chloe commented on her hearing.
She gasped and embraced her, “Aww! I never expected you to be here by this time. You came to get yourself cupcakes huh?”
Chloe nodded, “Not only that, I’ll love to stay with you for some time.”
Nessa grinned, she offered her a seat after which she joined her when she was through with her patronizers.
“So, sweetheart, how have you been? What of your Dad?” Nessa inquired.
She smiled, “I’m good and he’s good too. Dad is pretending not to love you by trying to stop me from coming here.”
“He might be playing pranks.” she replied and they giggled.
Vanessa thought of what they meant by uttering such a thing about her dad, she wondered if she noticed her expressions the past day.
“Get me cupcakes, I’ll pay for it afterward,” she referred to Vanessa.
She got on her feet tapping her back, “You don’t need to pay for today. It’s my pleasure seeing you again.”
Chloe chuckled, she watched Nessa move to the oven and get a cupcake for her. She loved how hot it was.
“Cuddle me, ma’am Vanessa.” Chloe referred to her.
She lifted her and made her seat on her thighs, her eyes affixed on her as she gobbled on the cupcake.
“Can you do me a favor, ma’am Vanessa?” Chloe uttered, licking her lips.
Nessa wondered what the favor was all about, “Anything for my sweetheart.”
Chloe glanced at her face and grinned, ‘I’ll tell dad about this first’ she thought within her.
