ONE WEEK LATER
“You are recovering really well Selina. In less than a week now, all the pain would be gone.” Dr. Felix said as he dressed the last wound.
“Really??” I asked happily.
” Yes. Just make sure to always take the drugs I prescribed for you. Also, make sure to always rub these ointments on you bruises after you finished taking a shower. Do it regularly and I assure you that your skin would be as good as new.” He said as he placed some bottles on the table beside the bed.
“Thank you so much doctor.” I said as I sat up on the bed with his help though.
“You are always welcome. And call me Felix. We have known each other long enough to call each other by our first names.” He said.
“Okay doc… sorry Felix.” I said with a small smile.
Over the past week, Felix and I had gotten somewhat close. He is really funny, nice and considerate. If not for Damian, I would have probably fallen for him.
Speaking of Damian, I barely see him these days. We rarely eat and gist together like we did before. Anytime we managed to meet, he sometimes ignores me, or ask me small questions about my health or if I was hungry.
He doesn’t even allow me to follow me to the club anymore. I know I was the one that pushed him away in the first place but I was starting to really regret my actions. I have never seen him this cold towards me before so it hurts me deeply.
Maybe I went too far that day. Maybe my words him too deeply.
“What are you saying Selina? It was for the best so you can’t feel bad or regret what had happened now. It had already happened, you pushed him away yourself.” My inner woman said to me.
I knew she was right but something in me that was still holding onto that last bit of hope. I shifted my gaze towards and released a small sigh. What was I expecting? Why would he come see me when I pushed him away in the first place.
“Is it the still the same thing with Damian?” I heard Felix ask. He seemed to have noticed my sad expression.
“Huh??” I was confused. How did he know.
“Don’t give me that look. You lovebirds don’t even know how to hide your feelings.” He said.
“Was it that obvious?” I asked feeling flustered.
“Very. Don’t worry, Damian would soon come around.” He comforted.
“You talk like you know him very well.” I said giving him a curious look.
“Did I forget to mention that I and Damian are really close friends since high school.” He said.
My eyes widened in surprise.
“How come??? You guys are just so different.” I said.
“Well Damian was not always like this. He only became this cold after that incident happened.” He muttered as he frowned like he recalled something really bad.
“What incident???” I asked, curiosity evident in my tone.
“I can’t tell you that.” He said.
“Why not?? I thought we were friends already.” I whined in disappointment.
“We are friends but Damian is also a close friend of mine. It also isn’t my story to tell. If he’s ready, I’m pretty sure he’ll tell you by himself.” He answered with a smile.
“I greatly doubt that.” I muttered under my breath.
“Did you just say something?”
“No.” I answered back.
“Okay, I’ve used more time here than I have planned to. Now, just do as I say and it would look like you never had those bruises in the first place.” He said as he packed up his suitcase.
“Will do. I hope to see you again. It was nice to finally have someone to talk to.” I said.
“I suggest you try to talk to Damian to clear whatever misunderstandings you two have. I can’t always be here to keep you company. Besides, it seems like you’ll be here for a very long time.” He advised.
“I’ll try. Bye.” I said.
He nodded his head before leaving.
I sighed and picked up the phone for a Damian had given me. I tried to surf the internet but I just couldn’t concentrate on it.
“I’m not going there to make any amends or get closer. I’ll just try to clear any misunderstandings between us.” I said to myself.
“Keep saying it till you believe it.” My inner woman said earning a scowl from me. And I shut her off immediately.
I dropped the phone and stood up. I thought of any possible place I could find him. So, I decided to check out his office first.

IN DAMIAN’S OFFICE
“How’s my prisoner doing Grey?” Damian asked.
“I did as you ask. He has been tortured greatly and hasn’t been fed food yet. Just a little bit of water.” Grey answered.
“Good, he can’t die yet. You can leave now.” Damian dismissed but Grey did not budge.
“Do you have something to say Grey?” Damian asked tiredly.
“Boss don’t you think you are going too far?” Grey summoned all courage in him to say.
“How so?” Damian asked as he raised his brows.
Grey took in a small gulp and continued.
“You are torturing someone who has been close to you for years all because of a woman you had just met.” He said.
“Roman touched something that’s mine. He needs to pay for his wrong doings.” Damian answered nonchalantly.
“Is Selina not wrong also?” Grey asked making Damian raise his head to stare at him.
“She shouldn’t have escaped in the first place. If she hadn’t escaped, Roman wouldn’t have kidnapped her.” Grey said.
“So it’s her fault that Roman had been lusting after her? It’s her fault that Roman sent his people over to my territory to kidnap her?” Damian asked giving him a “are you that stupid?’ look.
“No boss but…….”
“If you have nothing important to say anymore, leave.” He ordered giving him to room for any other argument.
“Okay boss.” He answered with a small bow as he walked towards the door.
When he opened it, his eyes widened when he found out that Selina had been standing there, eavesdropping on their conversation.
His surprised face quickly morphed into a look of disdain. He left shut the door before he left he standing there. Selina ignored him and opened the door before she walked in.
“What more do you have to say Grey…… Selina.” Damian called out in surprise when he raised his head up.
“Damián.” Selina called affectionately as she walked closer to him.
“What is wrong? Did anything happen?” He asked worriedly as he stood up and walked towards her.
Selina’s eyes watered as she noticed how concerned and compassionate he was towards her. She couldn’t help but wrap her hands around him and engulfed him into a very tight hug.
“I’m sorry Damian.” She muttered as tears streamed down her face.
