Banter
The next morning, Joel stepped out of his apartment building with his assistant by his side.
He had plans to pick his friend from the airport, but had his assistant come take the files he worked on for half the night, after using the other half to think about Nima.
It felt like the perfect timing for his best friend to arrive because he couldn’t wait to share his feelings with someone.
And who better than the man he had known since they were kids.
While Joel is quirky for his odd attitude, his friend is more smooth of a man.
He doesn’t joke much, but doesn’t act mean either. He’s just your normal simple guy, with his loyalty being one of his amazing traits.
He could also be a workaholic like Joel, but unlike Joel having two occupations, his friend was set on one goal and that was to bring his company high enough to rival his friend’s home, but that never happened.
Yet he never gave up and took on the challenge.
He rarely stays in one place for long.
Joel was in the best mood ever.
Gist, clubbing, drinking but no ladies, catching up with his buddy.
He couldn’t wait.
As he stepped in the car with Carey, taking her seat beside him, he dialled her friend’s number.
“The heck! Bro! I am freaking sleeping at reception. I told you 5 am damn it!”
Joel flinched a little at the loud nagging of his friend.
“The fuck, Adam! You called me unexpected. I need to drop my secretary at the company and come to you. Endure 30 minute more, as I have stayed up overnight to clear my schedule for today.” Joel replied and grimaced as curses rained from the other side, before quickly ending the call.
He knew the guy would look so innocent like he wasn’t the type to kill an ant once they met.
He acted on his emotions, but was quick to see reasoning.
He must be angry because he had told Joel to not worry about picking him if he was busy, but he insisted he was very free.
“Huh! My life is having more colors.” Joel smiled and heard the light scoff from Carey that had rolled her eyes along.
Knowing how well to deal with her, he asked.
“How was your date yesterday?”
Carey at first recalled how he had given her the day off, which helped her alot.
She was about to thank him and reply that it went well, when Joel asked a question that nearly made her puke blood.
“I hope you made the information you learn from the sex coach to good use.”
Face turning instantly crimson, Carey gasped in awe and was at loss for words for a whole 2 minute.
The Information she learned?
Are they talking about her sex life right now?
God! If only this man was someone she could punch in the face.
Of course, he would probably dodge the hit and feel good about himself getting her so riled up.
Holding the urge to laugh, Joel commented, “that seems to hit a nerve, or was it the opposite?, cuz your face looked so flushed.”
Now, she’s a little irritated.
“Boss, I think there is some pleasure derived from people thinking you are so creepy and extremely nosy.” Carey said with a tight smile.
She has his time today. This is their usual banter, but it never gets old.
Joel knows how to pick new subjects for them to treat.
“I’m guessing you also find me creepy and nosy.” Joel looked thoughtful yet amused.
“Very sir. I very very much do.” Carey with a slightly pitched up tone.
Chuckling, Joel spoke, “Creepy is a new attachment.”
“I intend to add it to the list from now on, sir. Nosy would still take the lead anytime.” Carey retorted.
“Interesting, but you still haven’t answered my question.” He said and Carey facepalm.
“I will add weird to the list, but I doubt it will make much difference, so I will just pray you drop me quickly. Mr Adam is waiting for you.” Carey replied and looked outside the window with a shake of her head.
She ignored his continuous chuckle, but at least he stopped asking questions.
Thanks to him, her mind drifted to the night before and God! Her man is at least kept for another 3 month, before her constant absence gets to him again.
He had been praising how good she made him feel since the previous night.
Gosh! If there is a way to give gift to the sex coach, she wanted to show appreciation, but the lady didn’t even open a patreon to get support like most people does.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
A thought of a similar line added to Joel’s chuckle.
He wondered how Carey would react to seeing him as the co-host of Nima.
It would be fun.
He just couldn’t wait for the days ahead to hit him head on.
