Chapter 6
Before I left the cruise ship, I packed my phone, wallet, and documents in a Ziploc bag, carefully tucked it in, and zipped up the bag to keep it from falling out. These new fall clothes from Gucci with stylish and practical pockets helped me in a critical moment.
“Nothing can hide from me.”
Hearing him say that, I reluctantly unzipped my bag and pulled out my phone. He grabbed it, dialed a number and said to the person on the phone, “Check the exact location of this phone and pick me up tomorrow.”
Since he spoke with the verve of a leader, I was naturally curious about his identity.
He ended the subject with a few words and pressed a new number in my contact list, “This is my contact information, you saved my life, if you need my help, just come to me.”
I half expected it, he was being hunted himself, would I really not get in trouble if I went to him?
“Don’t worry, I will not come looking for you.”
I reached for the phone and looked at the number he had saved, “Donald Lion your name?”
“Yes, I already told you my name, as a courtesy, should you tell me your name too?”
“Trista Swift.”
I had no intention of bothering him, but was going to take a shower. “For this favor, you can exchange it for anything you want.”
He suddenly spoke. “Anything?” I stopped and looked at him,
“Are you sure?” “I never lost my words.” I looked at him so arrogantly that I could not help but be sarcastic,
“If I want a mansion, a luxury car, or even you? Will you say yes to all that?” He looked at me and smiled,
“Then with a luxury car and a villa, I am all yours, how about it?” Hearing that, I was even more sure he was joking, “Get out of my way, do not block my shower!”
And sure enough, he just get the upper hand! Arguing with him was a waste of time!
In the shower, I remembered his name was Donald and muttered, “Why does that sound familiar?”
Reaching for the shampoo, not expecting to touch anything that moved, I lifted my gaze and saw -. “Ah….”Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
Donald’s point of view
A bloodcurdling scream suddenly sounded from the bathroom, I heard her voice and immediately rushed out, slamming the bathroom door open!
The bath bucket toppled to the floor, she sat curled up in the corner crying bitterly, “Help….”
“What’s going on?”
I bent down to pick her up and saw her scared out of her wits, her eyes scanning the bathroom with no one having entered. Her voice sounded like she was sobbing and even her grip on my hand tightened,
“Help me….”
“See what?” Judging by her reaction, she must have seen something she should not have. She was trembling in my arms with fear and pointed her finger in a certain direction,
“There…. Are cockroaches…. she will fly….” The cockroach? I suddenly felt weird, “You are afraid of cockroaches?” “Take me away. Please.” She had tears in her eyes.
Trista’s pov
My scalp began to tingle at the thought that my fingers had just touched a cockroach. Since childhood, the cockroach was the species I feared the most! Just as he and I were talking, a cockroach flew out of the corner to the window closest to us and slowly crawled on.
I screamed in horror, “Come on, let us get out of here!”
The past came to my mind in a flash, I was about to run away, and when I saw that he had no intention of leaving, I resisted and tried to jump.
“Do not move, do you want to attract the attention of the cockroaches?” I was too scared to move, crying and pleading,
“Please take me away.” I was carried back to the bedroom and his voice came from upstairs, “Are you that scared?”
He laid me on the bed and I had not quite regained my senses when I remembered what had happened years ago and tears immediately came to my eyes.
Do not be afraid, Trista, it’s been so long. You are an adult now. Do not be afraid! I reassured myself in my mind, curling up in a corner and hugging my knees tightly.
Donald’s point of view She was wearing only clothes, with her curled up movement she unconsciously let her fragrant shoulders show through, her seaweed long hair hanging down, making her even more sexy and cute.
Damn, why only is she extra attractive now, pulling me closer to her. My throat tightened, “You are sleeping in the bed tonight.”
I had a feeling that if I did not leave, I might be tempted by this woman to do something I should not. I was about to leave when I heard her say, “Wait.” She stared fearfully at the slowly crawling bug on the wall, not daring to take even half a step away from her gaze.
“You are not even afraid of bugs, are you?” I raised an eyebrow.
Trista’s view I shook my head, wanting to say that I was not afraid of anything when I was a kid, but ever since this happened, I have been deathly afraid of all insect-like animals.
“Get dressed first.” Hearing his admonition, I looked at myself incomprehensibly, and with that look, I gave away a lot!!! I had already collapsed, now even more collapsed, getting the clothes in order, I had the heart of a suicide!
“Go to sleep.” Surprisingly, he did not laugh at me, turned off the light and lay down next to me.
I responded,
“You are going to sleep here tonight?”
“Or what?” Two strangers who met sleep in the same room, I have a feeling that the picture is not right…. that if people know….
“Do not worry, I am not interested in you. Besides, I am hurt and I can not touch you.” I thought about it and thought it made sense, but still could not let my guard down. “If a cockroach shows up, I can help you.”
That’s what I like to hear!
The day of tossing and turning has made me sleepy, I slowly lay down the heart of defense, take the quilt as a block in the middle, and then fall asleep.
