Headache
The night was approaching, making anyone who had just returned from work usually immediately rest at a stopover place such as an apartment or their respective homes, but that did not apply to Gifer. From this afternoon after his life almost disappeared, the man in a suit and cloth pants combined with neat shoes did not return to his apartment, but was still wandering on the streets.
Until finally he called his best friend, Haris, to pick him up. And what was Gifer’s request? The man asked Haris to accompany him to a club so he could drink alcohol freely. Haris refused at first, because it would ruin Gifer’s reputation as a CEO. But Gifer was okay with it, after all he wasn’t a CEO anymore, just a FORMER CEO, he thought.
“Waiter! One more bottle on this table!” He said by raising his right hand. Although the sweet man only raised his hand towards the others because he couldn’t see. Even so, the waiter already understood Gifer’s code. Haris’ eyes bulged when the Friend wanted to order one more bottle. Crazy! This is not right! Now, Gifer had drunk so much alcohol that he even finished three bottles at once. Look at his condition now, his blind eyelids were droopy, his body was helpless, his mouth smelled of alcohol and Haris couldn’t stop thinking about his friend. Is his friend already very depressed? He thought.
“This is your order, sir,” hearing that, Gifer just nodded.
“Thank you, take it easy, I’ll pay you later.”
Gifer felt the bottle cap and opened it, pouring it into a small glass. Although there was still a lot spilled around the glass. When Gifer wanted to take a sip, Haris swiftly held Gifer’s hand so that the man wouldn’t drink any more.
“That’s enough, Gif! You’ve drunk too much! This is not right, anything in excess is not good! You’ve only been drinking alcohol without eating anything! Don’t you feel sorry for the rest of your body if it gets damaged one day?” Haris’ assertiveness was heard by the sweet boy’s ears.
“Let it go, Ris! No one cares about me! I’m fed up with my life, even if I die, I will never regret it!”
“Gif, watch your language! Never mind, let’s just go home!” Haris pulled Gifer’s left hand, took Jimin’s blind stick and got up from his seat. Walking towards the club’s cashier to pay for the alcohol Gifer drank.
“Yak! I haven’t finished drinking yet!”
.
Gifer and Haris had arrived at the apartment. All this time, Haris also lived in the same apartment with Gifer. Haris sat Gifer on the chair in the living room and at that moment Gifer started to babble incoherently.
“Ris, this afternoon I met a girl. I don’t know if she’s an aunty or a girl. Hahahahaha, but I think she’s still a girl, hihi,” because he had been influenced by alcohol, Gifer started to get drunk and talked like someone who was fantasizing about something that could not happen. Haris, who already knew, could only sigh softly.
“Ris, I know you’re unconscious, so your speech is getting unclear and sounds like nonsense. You better go to sleep!” Haris ordered. The one who was said to be speaking incoherently did not accept it and argued in a high tone.
“Aishh, I’m not talking nonsense, you know! I’m talking reality!” Gifer did not accept it while pointing at Haris, even though he was not actually there.
Haris chose not to respond, took off Gifer’s shoes and led him to enter his best friend. Covering the sweet man and then going to his own room. Haris’ room was next to Gifer’s room.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
Instantly Gifer’s memory recalled the moment the girl saved him from death.
“Are you hurt? Are you okay?” The girl asked worriedly. Gifer woke up from his bad thoughts and just shook his head in response to the girl’s question.
“Thankfully, God is still protecting you.”
What did she say? God? Heck, even God was the one who had played with his life to become like this. That was what Gifer was currently thinking, but he quickly dismissed it.
“Actually, where are you going? Why are you walking in the middle of the road?” The girl asked back. She wanted to know the reason why he was in the middle of the highway.
“I…” before Gifer could continue speaking, there was suddenly a voice from another girl who was getting closer to them.
“Belvina! Where have you been oh? I looked for you everywhere but you just disappeared!” Anggi was upset, because suddenly Belvina had left her while walking with her.
“Shh, shut up Anggi. I’m asking this guy,”
“Alright go ahead.” Belvina ordered.
“I’m blind, so I can’t see where I am, maybe because I’m not used to it,”
“What do you mean you’re not used to it? Aren’t you born blind?” Belvina spontaneously asked that question, but afterwards she regretted it a little because her question must have offended the man.
“Sorry if I…” Gifer immediately interrupted her.
“No problem, really. I wasn’t born blind, I was blind because of an accident. I don’t know why fate is so cruel to me,” Gifer smiled wryly while lamenting his fate which he thought was unlucky.
“Even so, you still have to live with it. You have to keep your spirits up, never give up,” Belvina advised while glancing at her arlogue. Break time was almost over. She had to get back to the office.
“Ah, Anggi and I have to go back to the office today. Here, your stick fell down earlier, but I picked it up first and then pulled your hand,” Belvina continued while handing over Gifer’s stick.
“Well, thank you for helping me,” Gifer displayed his sweet smile.
“Yes, you’re welcome.” After Belvina and Anggi left, Gifer called Haris to pick him up.
“Who exactly is that girl? If I could see, I would be able to see her beautiful face.” Tears fell from Gifer’s eyes, flowing down to the pillow where he was lying.

At Belvina and Anggi’s inn, both girls were already in their respective rooms as it was already 11pm. Where Anggi was already fast asleep in her room. But not Belvina who was lying down while thinking about the man she saved earlier that afternoon. She was very sure that she knew that man. But who? She tried to remember him, but it only made her head throb painfully.
“Why does that man remind me of someone, is he a man who means a lot to me? Have we met before? But, why do I feel familiar with his face? That smile, those thick lips, those narrow eyes, I feel like I’ve seen him before. But where? Why can’t I remember it at all?” Belvina woke up from her sleeping position. She tried to recall the memories she had once experienced. But to no avail, only fragments of the horrific incident lodged in her mind.
“Akkhh, my head hurts so much.” Belvina complained while closing her eyes tightly, enduring the pain in her head, as well as the hand that kept gripping her own hair because she couldn’t stand the pain she felt. That night Bevina could only pray and try her best to fall asleep, she hoped that tomorrow God would soon uncover all the memories she had experienced.
