Chapter 9- Hunting Part III/ Final Hunt
Chapter 9- Hunting part III/ final hunt
Jo looked at the tall and dark general who was watching her very closely and for some unsettling reason, he appeared happy to have spotted her instead of being angry for the trick that was pulled on him earlier.
‘General, these two slaves are my old friends and not demons. I will be in your debt if you talk to our Alpha and release them after this hunt is over’, Jo worded herself carefully so as to not rouse any suspicion.
Dante gave her a small smirk and decided to play along a little. ‘Are they werewolves too then? How did they end up in this hunting ground?’.
‘Umm, yes General! They are werewolves who have been wrongfully captured in the hunting ground. Merely lowly omegas as myself, hence we cannot shift like the other strong pack members’, Jo tried to sound as pitiful as possible, as a dazed Dante continued to watch her.
‘Why was she lying?’, he questioned himself inside his mind. He still could not figure out Jo’s true scent, but he wanted to believe that the mate scent earlier was hers, he wanted to hold on to that thought even if he could be wrong. But why was she lying about the two fairies? Even if she truthful, he would have helped release the fairies without a question.
Dante never liked hunting to begin with, even if some werewolves tried to justify it by claiming only evil demons are going to be hunted. He knew it was far from the truth and he intended to put a stop to it. But because of the confidential mission he was on, he could not risk revealing himself.
‘Ah I see. So, all three of you are omegas? So, tell me Jo how did you find them so easily?’, Dante asked pushing Jo into the edge.
Jo looked poised as she answered him back without flinching this time, ‘I found them by chance, General. Maybe it was Moon goddess who wanted to reunite us’.
Dante’s face changed at the mention of Moon goddess and he just sighed in defeat. Jo was a tough nut to crack and he knew she would not reveal the truth until she was caught redhandedly. He just had to wait and find the right time for that.
‘Okay but I have a condition if you want their freedom’, Dante announced making Jo almost roll her eyes at the back of her head.
‘What is it, dearest General?’, Jo asked.
‘If I win this hunt, I want you to go to the ball with me’, Dante finished slowly making the two fairies giggle in the background.
‘Fine. But let me tell you, every year the highest class of demon slaves caught are called ‘The plague demons’. And so far, Alpha Jayden is the only werewolf to have slayed one Plague demon by combat. So, good luck with that!’, Jo revealed to the General hoping that it would scare him off a little bit.
‘And where do I find them?’, Dante asked casually.
Jo tried to stifle any laughter; these royals really were on high horses thinking everything is a walk in the park. ‘Look up and notice how the dome converges to one point at the centre. You will find them under that area’.
‘Get your ball gown ready!’, Dante winked at Jo as he propelled himself into the sky with a quick jump and disappeared within seconds. Jo looked around in shock to see if he really vanished that fast.
‘OMG Jo, let me know if you are not interested in him now. I will gladly take a piece of him’, Mina squeaked like a little teenager girl.
‘For real, even if werewolves could be d. ickheads sometimes, they are HOT’, Daya replied matching Mina’s eagerness.
Jo ignored the two lost cases behind her as she stood cross armed. Just exactly, why was this General so obsessed with her?

‘F. uck. These Plague demons are getting stronger every year’, Jayden thought as he tried standing up.
‘My Alpha, are you okay?’, Gina’s voice distracted Jayden who only gave her a small nod.
All of the participating officials and ranked werewolves were fighting the highest classed demons under the center point of the dome. And because it was fight by combat only, so far no one could even land a single punch on the demons.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
Jayden observed the Plague demons before him. They were all tall and dark, almost like shadows and incredibly strong. Nothing less from the highest class of the demon ranks, only second to the demon king himself. Every year, Dark Slayer managed to capture few of them from the no-man’s border to parade them in the hunt. But to make it fair to them, the rules was to keep the fight combat only with no shapeshifting.
‘Alpha Jayden, looks like you are going to lose your reputation soon. You can’t even land a single punch’, one of the elderly official spoke mocking him. Jayden clenched his jaws at the comment. He had been training ever since he was a pup and was the only werewolf in record to slay a plague demon by combat. He would need to prove his strengths again if he had to.
Focusing all of his strength into his fist, he charged at the tall shadowy Plague demon who quickly dodged his punch, but Jayden managed to land a kick to the demon’s side ribcage making him grunt in pain. Gina cheered on from the side as he managed to land a punch finally right on the demon’s face. The other onlookers also stopped to watch Alpha Jayden as murmurs of admiration spread through the crowd. Jayden felt a surge of validation as he looked on to the proud face of his father but in the tiniest second of him getting distracted looking at the crowd, the demon kicked Jayden in his knees making him bend down. And sparing no time, the demon quickly turned his right hands in to a blade and brought it close to Jayden’s neck.
Everything happened so fast that Jayden barely had the time to react. He thought the blade would pierce his throat when someone locked the demon’s head in a death lock and snapped it so easily. Jayden looked up to see the person, who, not only saved him but also killed a Plague demon so easily.
But before he could see his saviour’s face, the dark-haired man vanished. Within seconds the other Plague demons under the center dome started collapsing one by one.
‘What the f. uck’, Jayden cursed as he tried to stand, and Gina was already by his side giving him support.
In a matter of few moments, all of the captured Plague demons lay on the ground completely lifeless. And then everyone watched in surprise as the royal general finally made his appearance from all the ruckus he had just created.
Dante stood there without breaking a sweat as he looked at the shocked faces gathered there. ‘I guess I won the hunt, eh?’

Jo and the two giggling fairies walked to the center of the dome. Jo was sure that Dante would have realised he overestimated his strengths and would be beaten to pulp by now.
‘HAHAHAHA, serves you right General’, she laughed maniacally making the two fairies shudder.
‘I think we have made a mistake. She does not seem right in her mind’, Mina whispered to her friend.
‘I agree, she definitely has a loose screw..’, Daya replied making Jo annoyed.
Before she scold the two silly fairies, she watched in horror as she saw countless bodies of Plague demons lying lifeless on the ground.
‘What in the….’, as she went closer, she saw a crowd gathered cheering Dante as he victoriously stood next to the bodies.
‘Did he really kill them all just by combat? Not one, not two but multiple Plague demons??? If he was this strong, could he possibly help me fight my enemies?’, Jo pondered as she swallowed a huge gulp. No, she reminded herself again. ‘I only need to rely on myself, no one can help me but myself’.
Dante finally looked in her direction as he smiled sheepishly. ‘Ready for the ball?’, he mouthed at her when Jo suddenly remembered his condition.
*Shit*
