Alpha King’s Special Soulmate

EPISODE ELEVEN

THEME: To be Honest

BLACK MOON PACK

(Avery’s Point of View)

We continued walking after Kayden kissed our locked hands. “Perhaps does our pack name bother you?” Kayden asked.

I furrowed my eyebrows. “No.. no it doesn’t bother me.” I replied.

Kayden nodded. “Well, I might move a motion to change the pack name when I become the alpha.” He said under his breath.

“Why?” I asked.

“I just want a darker name.” Kayden answered with a smirk on his face as our gaze met.

“Like what name?” I asked.

“Venom pack.” Kayden smiled mischievously.

I couldn’t help but laugh at his words. “You are joking right?” I giggled.

Kayden laughed. “Yeah.. that’s a joke.” He nodded.

We walked on in silence for about two minutes before Kayden spoke up again.

“Avery, very soon we’ll both be leaders of this pack. So how does that make you feel?” He asked.

I sighed. “I have been thinking about it. Can I really take on the position? Am I worthy to be the Luna of this great pack? What would happen if I make a wrong decision? What if I fail in fulfilling my responsibilities as a Luna?” I expressed the questions that has bugged my mind for a while now.

“Does it scare you that much?” Kayden asked.

I hummed a positive response.

“And have you thought of a way to overcome these fears?” He asked.

“I don’t know, Kayden.” I replied.

“I am sure you will be a great Luna.” Kayden mumbled with confidence in his tone.

“You and I both know that I won’t be here permanently until I get a degree but…” my voice trailed off.

I remembered the question alpha Alex asked earlier. How do I intend to shuffle studying and making out time to be with my mate?

Kayden had defended me but I really need to know his thoughts about this situation.

“Kayden, I am just-”Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

He cut me off mid sentence. “Don’t worry about it.”

“No.. Kayden, I want to know what you think about my stay at college.” I said, hoping that he would be honest with me.

“Avery, when I found out that you are so bent on focusing on your studies, I already made up my mind to support you.” He uttered in his usual calm tone.

But his words didn’t answer any of my questions. I love that my mate cared so much about me but I was desperate to know what was running through his mind.

“I am just worried about you.” I mumbled.

“I can always make out time to come visit you at college.” He added.

“You don’t have to do that, I will be here on every of my holidays.” I countered trying to consider the fact that my college was really far to the black moon pack.

“What? So I have to wait until holidays before I see you? That’s like months.” Kayden objected with a snapped eyebrows.

He looked offended but I was being realistic here. He had so many tasks to handle at the pack so making his way all the way down to my college to always see me would be a lot of work for him.

“I can’t wait that long.” Kayden added.

“Kayden, we can always text and keep up online.” I retorted.

That’s what humans do. Although we weren’t humans but we could give the method a chance.

“That make me a human which offends my wolf. I don’t like that idea of keeping up online.” Kayden argued.

“Come on Kayden, it’s not bad idea.” I demurred.

Kayden stopped walking and then he turned to face me. “I have a better idea.”

“And what is it?” I asked.

“How about we complete the mating bond before you leave for college? That way we can be more connected and we don’t need internet to make a connection.” Kayden stated.

I knew he wasn’t being honest with me earlier. And what was I expecting? That he was happy that I was leaving for college? No.

Then he shouldn’t have defended me when his father questioned me about the issue. He shouldn’t have lied about us having a plan when we haven’t discussed it. We don’t have any mutual agreement or understanding in this case.

And it doesn’t sit well with me. As much as my wolf would really love to be marked by our mate, I knew my body and soul wasn’t ready for the mating ritual. It would distract me from my priorities one of which remained getting a degree.

“We can give it a chance.” Kayden mumbled with a glint of hope in his eyes.

I let go of his hand immediately. “Kayden.. I don’t think.. I am ready for the mate bonding.” A deep frown grazed his face. “Listen, I am just trying to be careful. You know… we have to get intimate to be more connected to each other. And -”

“But you already agreed to marry me. So that made me think that you are ready to get mated to me.” Kayden cut in.

“I agreed to marry you.. but I am not ready for the mate bonding.”

My wolf grumbled at the back of my mind trying to object to my decision but I kept her under control.

A hurtful expression on his face but it was soon replaced by a forced grin.

“We are almost at the training ground,” Kayden said, turning away from me.

“Hey look, that’s my beta!” He switched gears to lighten the mood.

I knew he wanted to question my decision to not complete the mate bond but he let things slide. Kayden must have decided in his head to not pressure me about it.

“There is Ethan Paulo.” Kayden pointed to a large muscular man who was already jogging towards us.

“Hey Kayden…” Beta Paulo greeted.

“Paulo meet Avery my mate.”‘Kayden introduced briefly.

Beta Paulo’s eyes did a slow crawl from my head to toes then back to my head before he smiled. “Finally, you found her after the long wait. I guess those bitches will have to step down now.” He croaked.

Kayden and his beta laughed out. My eyes brows snapped together. Pang of jealousy stirred within me. Was my mate seeing other wolves?

“What bitches?” I blurted out without thinking.

“Stop joking around Paulo.” Kayden hit Paulo’s upper arm.

My body calmed a bit and my wolf retreated knowing that Beta Paulo was joking. In case you haven’t noticed, I have a violent wolf that is always ready to be let out in the open.

“I am kidding. Young alpha is every she wolf fantasy so him finding you would bash their hopes. All they would be left with is drool from afar.” Beta Paulo explained.

I managed to fix a smile in my face. Beta Ethan Paulo stretched out his hands towards me for a handshake.

I shook hands with him. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you in person, Lance Avery.” He let go of my hand and bowed slightly.

“It’s nice to meet you too.. beta Paulo.” I responded.

The beta straightened. “Kayden and I had quite a laugh when he told me you didn’t want a mate. It’s kind of weird and strange but I hope you will treat him better than the rest of us ever did.” He smiled.

I was embarrassed everyone knew my history of not wanting a mate.

“I will try my best.” I managed to smile as I glanced at Kayden.

“You talk too much Paulo.” Kayden cleared his throat.

“Come on, I am just trying to make sure that you are in good hands. Isn’t that okay?” Beta Paulo asked referring to me.

My lips parted in understanding. “You are right.”

“Pardon me Luna Avery, I didn’t mean to be so outspoken.” Beta Paulo apologized.

“Oh.. you don’t need to apologize.” I mumbled.

I liked Beta Paulo because he is free spirited.

“Do you want to watch us train for a while? You could join us too.” Beta Paul said.

“No she can’t join in training.” Kayden objected immediately.

“What? Why?” Paulo asked with a raised eyebrows.

“Actually.. I didn’t undergo much training in my pack. But I can ride a horse, go for hunting games and I am pretty good at fist fighting.” I explained things I could do but I didn’t like the disappointed look on Beta Paulo’s face.

A Luna who didn’t undergo proper war training in her pack. It kind of portrayed me to be a weak werewolf. Who would have guessed that I would be mated to an alpha? If I ever wanted a mate, I wasn’t expecting my mate to be an alpha.

“I was studying when everyone was handling pack affairs and trainings.” I added.

“Woah! Our Luna is a bookworm. I don’t think.. that’s bad. You could lecture the young wolves whenever you are free.” Beta Paulo applauded and I could hear the pride in his voice but it didn’t make me feel any better.

But I was glad I could do something with my studying gift like he suggested.

“That’s enough Paulo we have to leave now to check out other places in the pack.” Kayden interjected.

“Ok.. I’ll meet up later. Welcome to black moon pack, Luna Avery.” Paulo bowed slightly again with a bright smile on his face.

“It’s my pleasure.” I replied.

“Please take your time learning things that concerns our pack.” Beta Paul nodded.

Kayden placed a hand on my back to turn me in the right direction of where we are headed next.

“Don’t you think.. I need to know about pack training?” I asked.

“Sure.. I will tell you everything.” Kayden replied.
