By coincidence, Nelly returned home with Alpha Wade at that time, her senses heightened by the moon’s presence. She could hear the echoing footsteps of her sons as they prowled through the house, their presence alarming yet familiar. Ben, always quick-witted and perceptive, caught sight of Alpha Wade carrying bags of vegetables and stepped forward to help, his werewolf instincts urging him to assist his alpha. “Gramps, let me help you,” he growled in a low, respectful tone.
Meanwhile, Nelly, her werewolf form concealed for now, silently changed into slippers and collapsed onto the couch, her tired body aching from the night’s activities. Tony, his senses sharp and alert, dragged himself over to Nelly, his wolfish eyes searching for any signs of danger. Donna, the timid and meek one, timidly peeked out of her room, her heart pounding in her chest as she took in the scene before her. As her brothers stood before their formidable mother, Donna finally gathered the courage to join them, her cautious steps a mixture of fear and determination.
Soon, Donna and Tony stood guiltily in front of Nelly, their furrowed brows expressing their remorse. The air grew tense as the scent of anxiety lingered. Sensing something amiss, Alpha Wade, his powerful presence undeniable, walked over and asked, his voice laced with authority, “What’s going on?”
When Nelly shot a glance at Ben, his eyes filled with loyalty, he obediently stepped forward to stand with his siblings, a display of family unity that sent a shiver down their spines. “Apologize now,” Nelly commanded, her words filled with solemnity and reproach.
“Nelly, we’re sorry,” the triplets howled in unison, their voices filled with sincerity and regret.
“You’ve apologized to the wrong person,” Nelly hinted, her fangs glinting in the dimly lit room.
In that instant, the sharp-witted triplets looked at Alpha Wade, their alpha, and apologized sincerely, their voices filled with reverence and humility, “Alpha Wade, we’re sorry.”
Confused yet perceptive, Alpha Wade asked, his werewolf instincts guiding him, “What’s going on? Did something go wrong? What transpired in my absence?”
“Alpha Wade, I lied to you about someone from our school taking us home. We actually trespassed into forbidden territory to indulge in unruly activities,” Ben confessed, his eyes filled with remorse.
“It was my idea,” Tony admitted, his werewolf ears drooping as he took responsibility for his actions.
Donna, ever eager to protect her brothers, tearfully said, “Alpha Wade, it’s all my fault. They only wanted to bring me somewhere exciting because I was bored. Blame me, not them.”
She then threw herself into Alpha Wade’s arms, her slender form melting against his mighty one. He comforted her, his voice low and soothing, “It’s okay, my child, do not shed tears for your mistakes.”
“Alpha Wade, we shouldn’t have deceived you. Please, find it in your heart to forgive us,” Donna pleaded, her voice filled with sincerity and regret.
“Alright, let bygones be bygones. I will not harbor anger over such trivial matters. But remember, never again shall you conceal the truth from your family,” Alpha Wade forgave her, his tone a mix of authority and compassion.
“Alpha Wade, we understand,” the triplets affirmed, their voices filled with determination and reverence. They had always taken Alpha Wade’s words seriously, for his wisdom and guidance shaped their young lives.
“Alright, go assist Alpha Wade in preparing the meal,” Nelly sighed, relieved that the tension had dissipated. The triplets cheered up, their werewolf spirits revitalized, and they eagerly made their way to the kitchen to aid Alpha Wade.
“Nelly, does this mean we can explore the world outside our territory once more?” Ben boldly asked, a spark of mischievousness in his eyes.
Donna and Tony froze, waiting anxiously to see if Nelly would unleash her wrath upon them. Holding her gaze, Nelly subtly answered, her voice laced with a mixture of caution and permission, “As long as Alpha Wade agrees.”
The triplets were overcome with joy, their tails wagging uncontrollably. They realized it wouldn’t be too difficult to convince Alpha Wade! Their alpha had indirectly given them permission!
Donna cheered, her voice filled with enthusiasm, and planted a tender kiss on Nelly’s cheek. “Nelly is the best!”
Nelly, well aware of her daughter’s manipulative skills and yet unable to resist her affection, wiped her cheek with a swipe of her paw and walked away with a grimace to take a shower, her werewolf form yearning for the wild.
The triplets sighed in relief and exchanged knowing glances. Hurray! They could have their “fun” anytime now! Their werewolf instincts urged them to embrace their freedom, their youthful spirits yearning for adventure.
Meanwhile, Alpha Wade, his temples throbbing with frustration, watched the excited trio with a mix of pride and worry. During their meal in the dining room, he received a call from Alpha Larry, his rival and a symbol of a past he wished to forget. He glanced at Nelly, his heart filled with protectiveness, and walked to the balcony to answer, his werewolf senses on high alert.
“Alpha Wade, I’ve been wondering why you’ve been avoiding me. Now I know it’s because Nelly is back. Do you think you can hide forever?” Alpha Larry’s voice pierced through the air, filled with bitterness and frustration.
“You knew?” Alpha Wade asked, puzzled yet ready to defend his family.
“Of course I knew. Not only did I find out, but I also had a chance encounter with Nelly today,” Alpha Larry proudly revealed, his tone dripping with arrogance.
Alpha Wade, his primal instincts urging him to protect his family at all costs, realized there was no point in pretending anymore. “So what if you found out and saw her? I’ve been avoiding you for a reason. What can you do about it?”
“How dare you, when you were the one who wronged me first!” Alpha Larry’s voice roared with indignation and resentment.
Alpha Wade scoffed, his voice filled with defiance, “We pale in comparison to your family, the Morris, when it comes to inflicting pain and suffering.”
“Fine! I cannot match your words. By the way, I’m thrilled Nelly is back. How about we have a meal together this weekend?” Alpha Larry suggested cautiously, his voice tinged with manipulation.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“I won’t go,” Alpha Wade immediately refused, his voice firm and resolute.
Alpha Larry, cunning and relentless, tried to persuade him, his voice laced with false sincerity, “Come on! Nelly made a promise to me.”
Alpha Wade, his gaze fixed on his cherished granddaughter who was embracing the joy of family, said firmly, his voice resonating with protectiveness, “Do you have ulterior motives? Mark my words, Nelly will never cross paths with anyone from the Morris family again!”
“Don’t you know I’ve treated Nelly like my own granddaughter? How could you accuse me of having ulterior motives? If you won’t join me for a meal, I’ll come to your castle!” Alpha Larry threatened, his voice dripping with venom.
“Hey, wait a minute…” Alpha Wade yelled apprehensively in response, realization dawning upon him. Oh no! He couldn’t find out about the triplets! The secret they guarded with their lives.
After some thought, he finally replied, his voice filled with caution and hesitation, “Okay! Let me discuss it with Nelly first.”
“That’s better!” Alpha Larry chuckled darkly on the other end of the line, his voice laced with wickedness.
“What a crafty old man,” Alpha Wade muttered under his breath, his voice tinged with concern and apprehension, before hanging up. The tension grew thicker, and the stakes higher. The protective alpha knew he had to find a way to keep his family safe from the clutches of their past.
